Remember when water beds were a thing? Also, should there be a challenge to the Normies or the community to list out all the names from ‘It’ and other Stephen King novels, accompanied by a one line description of who they are?

Don't get me wrong I always enjoyed the It franchise, but it never really hit for me the way it appeared too hit for other people. This show has completely changed that in just two episodes. Now I am looking up the lore behind Pennywise and planning to rewatch the two originals + The Shining just to fully understand the clues in the background. This show is fantastic and I can't wait for the rest of the season and the other two seasons they have planned.

There’s something wrong with you or worse to blame a 12 year old girl that had been in an insane asylum once and was past terrified of going back. Consider how monstrous those places were in 1962. I felt real sympathy for that family but you’re convincing me to cheer on the rule of “law” (and Pennywise). Especially with that one idiot daughter expecting the other little girl to say a monster came out of the movie screen and ate all the kids. That’s not Juniper Hill for a few days, that’s Juniper Hill for a few years. And in Derry, you can bet they love to use electroshock (electroconvulsive therapy) while pretending it’s for medical purposes (think of ‘The Penguin’ and Sofia Falcons).

Yall gotta remember this is the 60s, mental hospitals were like torture camps. She’s just a child as well and experienced that. This was a very hard situation and the person we should blame is the racist cop for coercing Lilly.

Lonestar Int.

They’re not all hallucinations, pennywise is able to alter reality entirely

You're cheering for a lynching that easily? What was the girl supposed to do? If its between her dad and some acquaintance how would it even be a choice.

Small thing there’s a poster who can’t comprehend that a show wants you to have conflicting feels for a character as apart of that character’s growth. The black mom stood up for that boy in the same episode so it’s not like courage doesn’t exist but yeah it’s a kid in a tough spot. Plus the 60s are full of Civil Rights activists the same age doing the right thing despite fear. Calm down.

The grocery store setup is such a simple use of moving a set around to create unease that I love so much because of the practicality

The antique store was in the second movie, and Stephen King played the current owner Also, Dick Halloran? The Shining?!

Hmm since you guys asked to leave Easter eggs in the comments I want to leave some but idk if it ruins the tension to know the family lineage connections because then you know which kids survive. A good one to mention is the police Chief, his last name is Bowers. He's presumably grandfather to the main psycho bully from the IT movies. He went by Bowers as well and his dad was a policeman too. I think the one big one that I think is just too juicy not to mention is Hallorann. Dick Hallorann is Danny's mentor in The Shining (and Doctor Sleep). He teaches Danny about the Shining, as he has it himself. Not as strong as Danny's, but stronger than the average person. As it's explained in the book, most peolle have the Shining to an extent, very specific to a certain skill or just an aptitude or sense in one area. Hallorann was the strongest he'd known aside from his grandmother if I remember correctly, up until Danny. So he is straight up psychic. But I'm going on this tangent because Doctor Sleep kind of makes a storyline about kids with the Shining, and how monsters and ghosts love to feed on them. That energy. So I'm very curious as to what IT will think of Hallorann. And if they'll play with that. I love the Stephen King crossover stuff that's happening here, his books usually mention locations from other books so it's nice to see it here in a bigger way.

As opposed to someone like you supporting child abuse? And my “cheering on a lynching” was in reaction to those that support a sheriff bullying a little girl, threatening her with an insane asylum (a DERRY insane asylum), without her parent present.

SergeTroy

I’m pissed at the couch for not having more sympathy for Lily, but credit where credit’s due, Pat actually was more split on it than I remember.

SergeTroy

I was pissed they didn’t hold way more sympathy for Lily, or at least express guilt later. Still they were more ambivalent (including Pat!) than I remember.
