In the manga, Zeff survived starvation because he actually broke then ate his own leg after giving Sanji all the food.(The anime changed how he lost his leg)

#SundayRundown #OnePiece So, I don't even get the censorship of overt violence in these things, let alone implied violence. The manga is made for kids too! That's why it's in Shounen Jump. The manga is made for the same young boys that the anime is made for, but they somehow think seeing a violent picture move is going to traumatize a kid, when seeing the same violent image NOT moving is perfectly acceptable. ...AND THIS IS EVEN WORSE! The anime actually made it more violent, where, in the manga, everything was implied. There's still implication in the anime, but we actually see the steps Zeff takes to have his leg ripped off, then "see" it happen off-screen with the blood splatter; as opposed to seeing his leg already gone, then the bloodied rock, putting 2 and 2 together. So a leg getting ripped off is perfectly fine for the children, as long as there's no implied cannibalism associated with it? Oh wait! No. Implied cannibalism's perfectly fine too, so long as the child is READING about it, not hearing audio of characters talking about it.🤨😫

I actually like the change to Sanji's backstory in the anime. I like how the anime made it make more sense how Zeff lost his leg. I always though it was dumb for Zeff to cut off his own leg and eat it to survive in the manga. I figure he was desperate and that's why he did it, but if that was the case he would have die due to infection.

It’s funny how these episodes make it seem like Mihawk wasn’t ever there. Some people like to imagine the reason why Krieg was spared by Mihawk even after trying to shoot him and was already told he was already satisfied after his fight with Zoro is to test Luffy. Luffy said he wants to be the Pirate King, so him being able to beat one of the strongest pirates in the East Blue will be a good test to start his journey.

Not really, the manga is definitely more gruesome than the anime. Oda actually drew Zeff cutting his leg with a rock. Him eating his leg was only implied and not shown but compared to the anime where they replaced that with him cutting his leg with a anchor chain, the manga is definitely more gruesome
