Beautiful episode. My hero dub changed voice directors in the later seasons and you can really tell. It’s still very good but sometimes they don’t quite catch the mood. In the sub, the yakuza boss is shaming chisaki but still thinks of him as a son. Basically says he’ll be reminding chisaki of his mistakes until he dies. The “until hell swallows you” is way too dramatic and vengeful.

Idk I really like that line bc it’s so realistic. He put the man who that took him in into a coma, got the whole organization arrested, and tortured a little girl for profit. Chisaki did a lot of unforgivable things so him not getting any forgiveness or sympathy is understandable

"I intend to remind you of your mistakes until Hell swallows you" That line was just, damn XD. Great example of dubs done right.

The dual framing of Shigaraki’s legacy between the news segment and Spinner’s feelings was a great way to set up the contrasting viewpoints. Shigaraki was a monster who killed a lot of people and destroyed a lot of lives. He was also a great friend who wanted to be a hero to others who felt rejected by society. Like Deku said, they can’t forget the former, but they would be foolish to ignore the latter lest history would be doomed to repeat itself. Uraraka developed quite nicely over the course of the series. She started out wanting to make money to relieve her parents’ burdens to wanting to relieve the burdens of heroes to wanting to relieve the burdens of people with peculiar quirks that leave them outcast from society. It’s been a bumpy road for Uraraka, but I do appreciate that Horikoshi was able to weave together some sort of salient arc that speaks to the core of the series. And it felt good seeing the first years being inspired by the second years. Fawning over Shoto and Dynamight and that one kid motivated by Deku to go beyond. It’s good shit. Great to see Shinso fitting in with Class A like a glove. And Eri’s concert was so cute 😭
