Since, the culling game has finally started. I think we should go around the jjk ranking one more time. Cursed spirits and sorcerors use the same numbers and names for rankings but they are ranked differently in terms of hierarchy. For example special grade cursed spirits are not special grade sorcerer level. Special grade curses are equal to grade 1 sorcerers and grade 1 curses are equal to grade 2 sorcerers and etc. We are introduced to this info in in the 0 movie. Also even though characters like dagon, jogo, hanami and mahito who are shown to be much stronger than grade 1 sorcerers. They are different from the usual special grade curses such as the finger bearers and the special grade curse that geto used when he was alive. Though special doesn't have a limit but an entry point. Which is why we have the disaster curses and the og rika that passed on in the 0 movie who was stated to have boundless cursed energy. The same rule applies to cursed sorcerers. A big example is Choso. Who is ranked as a special grade curse, but when referred to as a sorcerer he is referred to be grade 1. For special grade sorcerers naturally they are ranked a level above special grade curses so when looking at a special grade sorcerer js keep in mind that they are on a completely different realm compared to the like of mahito and the disaster curses or most other special grade curses. Unlike the cursed spirits there isn't really an entry bar. Which is why we have special grades and potential/temporary special grade sorceres per example "principal yaga masamichi and mechamaru" "the special grade 1" sorcerers like naoya zenin, jinichi zenin and ogi zenin are the same as grade 1 sorceres. They are called "special grade 1" bcuz they do not operate under jujutsu society like the other ranked sorcerers. It is never explained in the anime. 2 funfacts: Old man zenin, Naobito zenin was a frade 1 sorcerer that worked with the jujutsu society, which is why he was present in shibuya and jinichi zenin, the guy with the meteor fist technique is tojis older brother. We get to see it in an art that shows the zenin family tree by gege himself

Remi did not lie about being forced to play, since she's one of the "OG Players", aka the ones affected by Kenjaku's long range Idle Transfiguration at the end of the Shibuya Incident. Some of them being newly awakened sorceres from the modern age (just like Mahito gave Junpei a cursed technique in season 1), and some being possessed by a cursed object, thus becoming incarnated sorcerers from the past (like Kashimo). The ones getting a single chance to leave the Culling Games are the straight up civilians. People who still have no cursed technique, and simply happened to be unlucky enough to find themselves in the zones selected as Colonies. They don't have any realistic way to put up a fight, so they get a one time possibility to remove themselves from the battle royale. About Kenjaku and Sukuna making some kind of pact in the past, I just want to remind you that at the very end of the Shibuya Incident, after setting up the Culling Games, Kenjaku spoke directly to Sukuna, saying "Are you listening, Sukuna? It's beginning once again. The Heian Era, the Golden Age of jujutsu". Kenjaku has already been confirmed to be ancient enough to have been around during the Heian Era itself, the time period when Sukuna was alive as a sorcerer. Do what you want with these infos.

The pacing thing Rana mentioned is so interesting coming in as a manga reader. Because in the manga the slow period of explaining the rules and planning for the Culling Games was a much needed breath of air after the high octane Shibuya Incident; however in the anime since we had like a year between seasons instead of a week between chapters it changes how you feel about not getting right into the action.

Something that caught my attention was Fushiguro specifying that the guy who made the new rule killed at least 40 people, and while reasonable I'm wondering how he got that number. I can't recall the exact wording, but it mentioned that not every kill is valued the same. Don't think they specified exactly what make the difference but I'm reasonably certain it comes down to how powerful they are as a sorccerer, or which of the 3 categories of participants they fall into.

Another funfact: When Hakari Kinji says "I haven't been this sad since Yakul got shot with an arrow" mfer was apparently talking ab the reindeer from princess mononoke. I didn't even know this until another reaction channel called TheBoldCast recognized it

So, fun little fact about the episode. Megumi and Yuji have a lot of the same poses (and even some lines) that Naruto and Sasuke had in the original Naruto series. The little stairwell scene where they have a small argument was basically Naruto and Sasuke showing back up for a split second. They even had their clothes have similar color schemes. Originally people kept comparing Naruto to JJK early on, saying it was just next gen Naruto, and while JJK did distance themselves from it, the director and animators found a fun way to bring that back up.
