Normies I am begging you to please treat franchise movies like a miniseries and give them their own slot instead of the precious movie slot. This way those who love the franchise movies win and those of us who don't still might win too. 🙏

Fun Fact: For Scream 6, the filmmakers deliberately tested audience reactions to Sam as a potential future Ghostface during early script discussions — not by making her a killer, but by leaning harder into her comfort with the mask and violence. That’s why her Ghostface moment is filmed exactly like a reveal scene, with the same camera language used for killers in past films. Skeet Ulrich (who played Billy Loomis) has hinted that early plans for the franchise involved Sam potentially becoming Ghostface in Scream 7, which would’ve built directly off her arc in Scream 6 — a direction that was later scrapped after behind-the-scenes changes.

Where’s Elimination Chamber 2002?

Jaydelle

Also, they actually hinted Kirby was alive back in Scream (2022)! When Richie is watching YouTube, there’s a sidebar video that says “Interview with Woodsboro Survivor Kirby Reed.” It’s a blink-and-you-miss-it Easter egg confirming she survived Scream 4.

Jaydelle

Low key funny Gale told Quinn she was gonna die screaming and she did exactly that, lol

Mazerrun

This is unfortunately the last time we will see Tara and Sam’s characters because Melissa Barrera was fired after speaking about the war in Gaza, and Jenna Ortega said that she won’t continue without Melissa in it. Also, the reason why Neve Campbell’s character, Sidney, wasn’t in 6 is because she wasn’t satisfied with the contract, particularly the salary she was offered.

Where’s the 2002 chamber

Fucking love you guys

It's *such* a shame that Scream 7 has turned out how it's reportedly going to be. This new crop seemed to have promise, but now even if it wasn't messed up to support the people behind the new film, it sounds like it's absolute shit anyway.

Ren Davis

I remember hearing that their mother would be the killer who killed Tara in the beginning in order to drive Sam to become Ghostface because the mother was obsessed with Billy or something like that. I can see a world where Sam becomes an anti-hero like Ghostface of other kinds of potential Ghostfaces or something. But I struggle to see her being a typical Ghostface of innocent people. Still, I do like the idea of playing around with the narrative roles. The directors of 5 and 6 said that all of their ideas for 7 were still rough ideas and nothing fully fleshed out yet. Would have been curious to see how they handled it. But we’ll never know now 😂

Ren Davis

I rather liked the direction of Scream 5 and 6. I thought it injected some new dynamics into the franchise and played around with the established narrative roles. It was entertaining to see Sam be a Final Girl but also a Ghostface of other Ghostfaces. Nice tilting of the box. Alas, Melissa Barrera was fired due to standing up for Palestine and Jenna Ortega left in solidarity. Now we get Scream 7 to rehash the same old shit 🥱

Ren Davis

Samara Weaving (woman at the beginning) is Hugo Weaving’s niece. They’re Australian so that’s why she has an accent. Her and the therapist (Henry Czerny) are from Ready or Not, which has the same directors as Scream 5 and 6.

Rando calrissian

Really? The audience score is 78% so it cant be that bad if the people who are paying to watch like it. The critics score is low and fuck what critics think imo

Ren Davis

I think the critics generally have better tastes than the audience. Audiences tend to have much lower bars to clear and don’t really care beyond that. Hence Melania having a 98% audience rating.

Ren Davis

Also I liked the Mojo Jojo reference. Nice to see a popular Roger L. Jackson voice role referenced in a franchise that has another popular Roger L. Jackson voice role.

Any update for Survivor Series 2002 uncut? The YouTube edit is up, but not the full length.

Rosemary

the last good one before we enter Tel Aviv Scream

Come to think of it, the killers are way less predictable when you see the Scream movies in a theater. You can't talk or overanalyze every detail so you just let the movies take you in. Being in the dark also makes the jumpscares way better. Like, I clearly remember the 2nd for obvious reasons but the 5th was intense lol

Jaydelle

Oh, wow, that would have been interesting re: the mom, I thought at some point she would pop up having never seen her and also hearing that she blamed Sam now for breaking up the family (and causing that rift between her and Tara since Sam came back). Yeah, I really would have loved to see the direction they took with Sam as a potential Ghostface, it would have been a fascinating watch.

Sage

Completely wrong, being a critic doesn’t give you better tastes it just gives you another opinion. Scream 6 is still by far the worst one

Sage

Having seen scream 7 , scream 6 is still by far the worst one to me. People are getting sliced up left and right and still surviving and the killer reveals were predictable and cartoonish. The cop literally turns into a scooby doo villain

Sonicluis

This movie and 3 are the worst one. Still solid I just personally think that.

Sean Carleton

Scream 6 was incredibly fun in theatres. I went with my niece.

Jon Mercano

Neve Campbell opted out of this movie because she felt the amount of money they were offering her wasn’t enough. “More of a twat block” I’ve heard clam jam Kirby’s survival was actually revealed in a blink and you’ll miss it easter egg in 5. When Richie’s watching youtube the recommended tab has “Interview with Woodsboro Survivor Kirby Reed”! It was confirmed that Sidney’s husband Mark is supposed to be detective Mark Kincaid from 3. Or at least *was* supposed to be. Patrick Dempsey was supposed to return for 7 but scheduling conflicts and the California fires happened. I saw another reaction to this movie, they also spotted Mojo Jojo 😂 I completely forgot! He has the same voice actor as Ghostface! Roger L Jackson! Quinn said she was the one who stabbed Gale. Bailey was in the park when they tracked the call to her apartment. The directors confirmed he was Ghostface in the Bodega. He was very likey the one to kill the wannabe ghostfaces, Sam’s therapist

Stephanie

Calling Israel criticism anti-jew hatred is disgusting. What Israel is doing in Gaza is a crime and terrible. Netanyahu belongs into prison.

Ren Davis

I think being a critic gives you much more refined tastes as you have more knowledge about film and see movies on a much more analytical level. Fans, especially fans of high profile franchises, tend to be much more forgiving of much less effort and schlock content. And it’s usually pretty niche to those specific fans.

Javi From 🇪🇦

From what I've heard Hollywood actors that earn over $1M tend to keep around 30% of the salaries that are reported (after taxes and what they pay to their agents, managers, lawyers). Viola Davis explained it in detail in her book, why each role is important and how much they get paid. It's a really interesting read.

Jaydelle

Yeah, I don't get why they probably have him that direction for after the reveal in Scream 6, but as a huge fan of the franchise, I was disappointed in Scream 7, it's the worst one for me. There barely felt like any character development in the new group, the pacing felt off, the kills felt forced and don't even get me started on the killer reveals and their motives. It was nice seeing Sidney and Gale on screen again, and Isabel May did her thing, but this was the first Scream movie where I kept checking my watch to see how much longer til it was over. I'm hoping if they actually do a Scream 8, it's much better. Deliberately being a bit vague here to not spoil anything for anyone.

PurportedGrey

Same Jaydelle, 6 has a few problems, especially with what Sage is saying about the insane personality flip the dad has, but I just notch it up to all the killers being a different variety of insane, not all crazy people act or think the same, even if they have the same psychopathic tendencies.

PurportedGrey

Come on, Koala. Paramount, which owns the franchise, has multiple public connections to the Israeli government. Melissa Barrera was fired for protesting, both publicly and online, over the Israeli government and it's officials’ heinous actions at the time. If you label every criticism of Israel as antisemitic, you muddy the waters and weaken the fight against real antisemitism. When everyone is treated as guilty for their criticism of the government, actual antisemites have more room to spread their hate, because the focus isn’t on the people who truly deserve to be held accountable.

Jaydelle

Fair points made as well

Sage

My point is you don’t have to be a critic to look at films on an analytical level. All I would have to do is turn on a camera and post my thoughts on youtube and I’d be in the same boat. Yes it’s more likely that a critic looks at it differently than some random comment that doesn’t watch that many movies but it’s not an absolute

Ren Davis

We’re talking about the critic score and audience score. So within this binary, I find the critic score to be a lot more substantive and informative than the audience score.

#SundayRundown Scream 6 kills are pretty dang brutal, though some of my favorite kills come from the Scream Tv show. Have any of the normies heard of the show? Even though it was the same name as the movies it takes place in a different town with a different mask so it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize it was connected 🤣.

Kurumi

i think they should watch the tv series its actually fairly good besides the 3rd season or reboot they tried

Anthony Morales

When are you guy's going to react to Scream 7?

Jodi

Will yall be doing scream 7?
