#SundayRundown Mannn I so wish this was double drop 😂😩. What an episode. This would’ve been the first time a generation watched Superman & Batman meet up. The last time would’ve been the Super Friends cartoon in the mid 80s Also, Chris & Suraj, you guys were right, while this was originally airing as a 3-part episode in 1997, it was later released as a standalone home video.

Solebat

I watched this live, and it was huge(Kids WB days). I always think about when Batman found out Clark is Superman without any Superpowers.

#SundayRundown YES!!! So glad we're here! Suraj you got me so nostalgic right now!! When I was a young kid I also first saw this three-parter by renting the "Batman/Superman Movie" at Blockbuster!! It blew my nine year old mind. Seeing these two iconic heroes and villains together for the first time! Glad you all are reacting to this!! Some for the first time and some rewatching it after all this time!

#sundayrundown When BTAS was changed into TNBA (The New Batman Adventures), the team made character designs that were more in line with the STAS style. Some great (Scarecrow), some of them are decent, some barely changed (Harley) and… Joker was one of the worst. Thankfully the next time he’ll show up after this three parter he will look good again. There was a movie cut of this so some might have seen this version (which just cuts the episodes together), there’s two other STAS episodes that crossover with TNBA/Batman one centers around Ra’s Al Ghul who tries to steal Superman’s powers through Native American magic. There’s been several comics that play with the fact that Bruce and Clark look very similar. The great Shirley Walker composed the music for both BTAS/TNBA and STAS (as well as Mask of the Phantasm), she was an amazing composer and another important piece to the DCAU puzzle.

Sorry! Just letting you know maybe edit this because at least one of those is for sure on their list "Knight Time" so that is a spoiler

Kay Bee Baby

I thought it wasn’t on the list.

Ludwig's Fishbowl

I think it is. All listed episodes are on the Zatanna BTAS ep reaction. Unless it has been changed since then and I missed it maybe. In that case I'm really sorry. I think "Knight Time" was my recommendation because not only is it a good episode to be endeared to Tim Drake BEFORE... that movie but it's also genuinely one of the most react worthy episodes simply because of how much fun it is and I don't think anyone could see the premise coming until it happens.

CJ Dennis

I feel like it needs to be a rule for all reactors: that any time you have a 2 or 3 parter, that must be watched in one go rather than week to week 😅 😅.

CJ Dennis

I think most people miss that reference 😅 😅.

Zeee

Don’t let comic fans hear you say that

Zeee

I’m sure most people missed it lol

Steve Harvey Dent

You should watch the two-part Lobo episode before the second Batman Beyond two-parter you guys are gonna react to.

Denickart

Back when STAS and BTAS were airing they were just 2 halves of 1 show, The New Batman/Superman Adventures.

Daniel Gonzalez

Same I don't care if we get them all at once but just for their sake its always best to see these kinda episodes together

Ludwig's Fishbowl

Thanks! Your comments and insights into the DCAU and DC in general are something I always look forward to every reaction

Daniel Gonzalez

Even though I love Kevin as Batman and Mark as the Joker I was mainly bummed when you guys dropped BTAS because Superman is actually my favorite DC hero and animated series version is my Superman so I'm glad even if were not watching the whole thing we are still watching a like greatest hits version also to support Chris an Suraj definitely watch the Lobo 2 parter if you guys have the time later

Frankie H

And it had that awesome intro theme too.

Frankie H

Oh this was awesome!!!! Also really cool Suraj told the couch that the cop Dan Turpin is based on Jack Kirby the comic book writer/artist. This episode hints that Kryptonite is dangerous to humans too. Alfred mentions that everyone who owned the kryptonite dragon died "untimely deaths". Which is something that a lot of us kind of assumed, because you know, it's a glowing alien radioactive rock.

Shockzz1234

#SundayRundown Dammit, Spidey would miss World's Finest! Also yeah this shit was totally on VHS and such as a "movie". How do I know that? Because I owned it! Still probably do, it's tucked away in my attic, I'm pretty sure. My first ever crossover, like Suraj said in the vid it's the norm now, but back then? I was hype as fuck booyyyyy. (Also also yes, I will accept blame for skipping the Lobo episodes! Like I said, hard choices had to be made when stripping down the list I initially made, a lot of very good eps got cut because they weren't needed for JL/U stuff unfortunately lol. Didn't realise you guys were SUCH fans of his haha, well mostly Chris and Suraj it seems, also they're not actually *completely* irrelevant for JL/U (just not SUPER important) and they're even a little bit relevant to some Batman Beyond episodes, which are on the list, so it actually wouldn't be a waste of time or something to go back and watch them lol)

Shockzz1234

My hot take is TNBA Batman (and therefore by extension JL/U Batman) looks better than the original BTAS Batman *runs away* (both are great though)

Ren Davis

Suraj, you’re so silly. Clark and Bruce do not look the same. I’m tired of people saying that. ………… ………… ………… Clark wears glasses. He looks totally different 😉 Also I don’t know this but are you all doing the whole series 😜

Ren Davis

I caught the reference because Deadpool made the same reference 😂 Figured they must have both been referencing something else because I doubt Deadpool would be referencing this one specific moment from STAS. Lo and behold! It was Ricardo Montalban 🙌🏾🙌🏾

@eric.na.goo.yen

Season 1 Lobo episodes, essential? Perhaps not. But super fun and would make great reactions? Absolutely. You guys would love them, we would love them, where’s bad? 🤷‍♂️

cory hawks

I think this is one of the reasons why the DCEU failed. They failed to understand that Superman and Batman meeting was more important than forming the Justice League. Because if you nail the dynamic between those two, everything else becomes a lot easier.

Thekingmonkey

I also feel like the hero’s just barely interacted with each other at all in those movies the most we got was the teen titans hanging out but that’s there whole vibe. Like I wanted to see Clark and Wonder Woman shopping for Batman’s birthday present like in the comics just some life and friendship.

MrTwister86

Just letting you know while the 2 part Lobo episodes may not be important in the overall scheme of things. You may one to watch it before you get to a 2 part episode in another DCAU show.
