Some Simp

Is anyone else tired of seeing Lex,Darkseid, and Brainiac Like every episode they react to has one of those 3 villains, when there are others in this series.seriously watch other episodes with other villains Please Those 3 aren't the only good villains superman has

Shay

It's because they are specifically watching to prepare for the JL animated series, since they're only watching episodes that will be relevant to that it's likely those are the only Superman villains that even show up

Some Simp

I aware of that, but there are villains who show up in JL that they skipped, some of the episodes they seen aren't even related to JL, and 3.Idk man...this series isn't even that long they could break away fro..whatever list they have

#SundayRundown Love this episode!! Superman dressing up as Batman led to some great moments! Also glad you all got to see Tim Drake!! This version is pretty much Jason Todd characterization just with the Tim Drake name. Suraj is right that the rogues Superman fought while playing Batman will probably not soon forget this night!! Supes just helped Bats' reputation.

#sundayrundown Yeah the Robin in this is the DCAU version of Tim Drake, that became Robin at the beginning of TNBA (which essentially just reworked Jason’s origin for Tim instead). TNBA saw a simplified redesign of the show to make it more inline with STAS also why Joker in “World’s Finest” had a new look. Catwoman and Penguin both where heavily inspired by “Batman Returns” (Penguin’s whole aesthetic and Selina being a Blonde like Michelle Peifer until TNBA) also the actor that played Mickey in the Rocky movies was the original live-action Penguin. Roxy Rocket is one of the many DCAU’s female villains (well in her case more like an antagonist as she commits crime for the thrill, as she’s an ex stuntwoman). There’s plenty of fun comic stories that deal with Bruce and Clark looking very similar in the Batman/Superman comics of the last two decades, where they get confused or replace the other.

#SundayRundown Gotham's baseball team are the Knights. The nickname of Dem Bums being used here is based on the Brooklyn Dodgers. It was nickname coined for them in the later 30's. It makes sense given the retro futurist look of the show & NY's connections to Gotham.

#SundayRundown I'd be curious to see how you'd react to the 60's Batman series. It's incredibly goofy but the colors really pop in it. That version of The Penguin is played by Burgess Meredith, who you know best as the trainer Mickey from the Rocky series.

It is what it is I was disappointed when they dropped BTAS before watching my favorite Robin episodes never thought wed even get to these episodes which is better than nothing to this day though them stopping the Angel edited reactions partway into S4 is one of my biggest gripes with them

#SundayRundown So yes, the Robin at this point in time in the series was Tim Drake but with a twist. The DCAU often did composite characters, where the identity would be that of whoever was the popular character or holder of the title, but they'd do their own thing with the actual personality. You guys kinda saw this in the Flash episode where it’s Wally West but had Barry Allen traits. You’ll see it again in the Green Lantern episode. The more popular Robin in the late 80s and 90s was Tim Drake but the creators preferred Jason Todd’s more street-urban backstory but felt they couldn’t directly adapted the character due to the the character being dead and having a dark end & baggage at the time (Jason was still dead in the books and didn’t come back in comics till the 2000s) so they aimed to create a merge character by combining the best elements of both. As far as Superman and Robin, he often has a relationship with Dick G. In alot of stories, he’s the inspiration for him becoming Nightwing.

Zeee

Yeah, I do wish they saw more of Superman’s rogues gallery in these

#Sunday Rundown The villain you saw at the beginning was Roxy Rocket who only has 2 appearances total in this universe. The first time was in The New Batman Adventures where Batman eventually gets her in a game of chicken. She of course, tried to seduce him too like with Superman in this episode. Here’s the clip where Batman catches her. https://youtu.be/jld9FJaaj98?feature=shared

There definitely should’ve included Lobo and Toyman episodes as well.

Denickart

Because they're the only villains in this series that are more than fodder in Justice League

Some Simp

im glad Zod never showed up in this series

#SundayRundown - It's not that big a deal, but there were two eps added to the list after you guys first started the DCAU that I remember you guys saying you added to the watch list, and one of them was 3x1 (the other I believe was 3x11). So you skipped an episode, most likely you forgot to add it to the list! Like I said, not too big a deal though. Although 3x11 is a very good episode, it would be a shame to miss it.

#SundayRundown Imagine how scared the Batman villains will be when Batman returns to crime after hearing “Batman” was strong enough to whoop Bane’s ass even after juicing up from just “working out.” It was so funny to see Superman use superspeed to stop the Mad Hatter no matter which direction he went and kick the Penguin’s desk with such force.

The Normies

I believe we will be going back and covering Lobo in STAS 1x9+10, before we do Batman Beyond.

Gremmy Thoumeaux

I love how Braniac reacted after seeing Superman emerge from the fire where Batman was. “This development was highly improbable.” I imagine that’s his way of saying, “KAL-EL IS SUPERMAN AND BATMAN?!” I also love the line of him saying, “You're every bit the detective that your followers on the Internet believe.”

Some Simp

sweet! cant wait If i could make a suggestion..could you guys also check out maxima, bizarro and metallo epsiodes too? i promise you wont be disappointed

Daniel Gonzalez

Yeah personally I just like Superman TAS over BTAS it has the team up and crossover episodes plus we get Lobo and hints at other heroes plus Brainiac and Darkseid

Maurice Gray Jr

#sundayrundown This was a great episode! Batman as Superman has been done before in the comics, but this was the best representation I've seen. I agree- he definitely enhanced Batman's reputation, especially with Bane :-). And him using super speed to duplicate Batman's mysterious melting out of the shadows was a nice touch. Superman with Tim Drake's Robin was a great team-up. I'd also like to see you guys react to the Biff! Bam! Pow! 1960's Batman series- it was a lot of fun

#Sunday/ThursdayRundown When these episodes aired in reruns they changed the intro and rebranded them the Batman/Superman Adventures and the new intro song went hard as fuck. Rest in peace Shirley Walker you musical queen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsVQuIlTnGk I've said it before but the Gotham Police for sucks. The Metropolis Police fought off an alien invasion!!!! Get your game up Gotham!!

LOBO DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

@eric.na.goo.yen

L’s up for Lobo! Hell yea! This is one of my all time favorite episodes out of all DCAU series. Supes dressing up as Bats is absolutely some silly yet exciting energy that we will always need in our lives.

Shockzz1234

Iirc, they couldn't use him because of rights, I think? But they took another Kryptonian, Jax-Ur, from the comics and basically retooled him and made him into Zod, so we sortttaaa did get him, kinda. But not really lol.

Shockzz1234

There's dozens of us! Dozens. I mean don't get me wrong BTAS is incredible as well, but yeah I slightly prefer STAS over it personally. It's got more sci-fi to it (which is a genre I love), it's where the DCAU really starts to form properly (villains, team ups, crossovers etc) and I think it's more consistent as a show overall. BTAS was incredible at its highs, but it has a lot of lows that people forget about as well. Whereas STAS might never reach the heights of BTAS, but I don't think it's ever as bad as BTAS is at it's worst either.

Shockzz1234

If only Gotham had their own Dan Turpin! RIP to the legend.

Michael Acuna

L for those LOBO episodes!!!! Also, this episode might be my favorite just for the inclusion of Tim Drake Robin.

Chaos T

L for LOBO!!!!!!!!!!! It was hilarious in the beginning where Marketa was questioning reality lol.
