finns dad wasn’t driving the comet, they only thought it was a comet but it was just a spaceship that was going to hit mars and they redirected to earth, the spaceship hits earth and then the real comet shows up later martin is just coincidentally there both times.

in terms of switching up adventure time schedule you guys do you, ultimately i would love to get to more episodes sooner so i cant talk about them without spoilers but doing less episodes per week is not really going to diminish the quality of the discussions imo there’s going to be so much to talk about at least every other episode at this point.

I can see why someone would think "Where There's Smoke" is important but it took reading the synopsis to even jog my memory so I i really don't think it's essential. Have a nice & safe trip Rana🌴

Regarding my Witch Hat comment, you've definitely seen LGBTQ characters in anime before, but it is easy to forget things so I won't hold it against you. Bentham/Mr 2 from One Piece is openly queer, Giselle and Chulhorne from Bleach are clearly inferred, and JOJO, well every character is a bit gay by default 😂 also Japan while not having direct protections and same sex marriage rights, it is still a lot more progressive than other Asian countries by having homosexuality be legal since 1880 and having its own Japan Pride celebrations, in fact some Japanese politicians are openly gay. Ultimately I just found it stupid how the usual twitter crowd was mad at Shirahama for having representation when Japan has had it for decades now and trying to say she was suddenly forced to include it, when it obviously is her own story she has spent years making. . Edit: if you read mine also read Shockzz reply to this comment they make some great additional points.

I was literally coming here to type a similar comment after just getting to that part of the vid lmao. Like I'm no Japan expert, but I think they're actually quite ok when it comes to queer stuff, they have entire subsections and genres for that stuff that is WILDLY popular, yuri, yaoi, BL etc. queer bars are also relatively common from what I've seen too. Okama is a whole thing there too (big up Mr.2 Bon Clay, as you mentioned). The reason the Normies don't see that stuff too much in the anime they watch is because they watch mostly Shounen stuff which won't necessarily have a lot of that (still some, as you said) since they're not really target demographic, but trust me there's LOADS of anime out there with LGBTQ stuff in it lol. Especially romance series. Gimme a Banana Fish reaction, fuck it lol.

Regarding the STAS episode "Where's There's Smoke" I actually do recommend you go back and watch it. Not only because I want more STAS lol but also because of the content of the episode. While watching it on it's own, the ep might not seem important or a big deal, BUT it basically kick starts some other bigger stuff that happens in JL/U and the events of the ep are directly mentioned there as well. So a big yes from me! (about a week or so after you started the DCAU, we actually did mention this episode in the comments of one of the STAS episodes as one to add along with the Demon Reborn episode as they were both not on the initial list, but I think you guys missed the mentioning of it and only saw The Demon Reborn mention, which is cool, it happens)

I was the one who messaged. (And I got my comment read twice kinda) anyways, the episode is “Where there’s smoke there’s fire”. It ties into the JLU Cadmus arc for those who are curious. Edit: also super impressed they asked the community about this. No one does reactions like this crew. Very cool

When it comes time to poll for another classic anime, please consider throwing Gundam Wing, Berserk (will get a ton of views), Trigun, Kenshin, and Outlaw Star into the mix.

I agree! But since it wasn't tied to JL/U, it wasn't put on the "important" list. Which sucks. Sacrifices had to be made, really in a perfect world, they would have just watched the whole series but ah well. Brave New Metropolis, The Bizarro eps and the Mr. Mxyzptlk eps were other casualties :(
