SSJ VEGITO

ROFLMAOOO the way I was like "... With ALL this new shit to watch and franchises y'all need to CONTINUE, I know damn well y'all aren't watching this old ass movie!" 😐 The only Michael I could think of (for some CRAZY ass reason LOL) was the 1996 angel movie ✌️💀🪦🤣

Sage

Well she didn’t want to be in it that’s why

Sage

Dirty Diana always been my favorite song

VenturaInTheBaja

Misspelling MICHAEL… fess up, who did it!? They have to do a moonwalk on IG for us as punishment!!!!

Sage

Well she was older, knew Michael had a crush on her which was pretty obvious to tell, and probably was most definitely playing with his feelings. I think Mike was just a sad boy making that song

Andrew Revella

His baby's name isn't Blanket, thats a family nickname mentioned in a documentary, that the tabloids forcefully pushed on you as the child's actual name. 🤦🤣 The child's name is Prince Jackson the second.

SSJ VEGITO

RIGHT!? Lmao I was absolutely DYING until I clicked play and fast fwd it enough to realize they were talking about JACKSON 💀🤣

KMun79

That story about Eddie Van Halen not knowing who Michael Jackson was when asked to play the solo was not true. Jackson had been a very well known worldwide successful star for many years.

Hard to top head butting a bull and winning.

I don’t know, she seems very dedicated and punctual… she knew the boys in the band… had the schedule for when they came to town and according to all accounts… Diana was loved by many musicians. Seems she was very liked until Michael judged her and called her… DIRTY. #DianaJustice

VenturaInTheBaja

It’s all $$$… she wanted a huge pay package to be included. It was as simple as that. The Jacksons, due to their father and upbringing, are absolutely money obsessed. Michael wasn’t as he just came into ungodly amounts of wealth in early 20s so it was never ever a thing for him to worry about

#Sunday Rundown: OMG, you guys have no idea how happy I am that you're finally watching this movie. I saw it in IMAX Dolby Atmos, and the experience was incredible. People were showing up in Michael Jackson shirts and replica jackets from the 80s. During songs like "Billie Jean," "Thriller," "Human Nature," and "Bad," people were singing, dancing, and celebrating together. By the end, some audience members were even crying and reaching their hands toward the screen during Jafar Jackson's performance. The Twister scene hit me especially hard. Growing up, I often felt different from other kids and struggled to fit in socially. Most of my childhood was spent with my siblings, my parents, and the fictional worlds I loved. I was the kid reenacting episodes of Ed, Edd n Eddy, Regular Show, and Drake & Josh with my brothers, or sitting with my mom watching shows like America's Got Talent and The Voice. Later, I was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome (now considered part of Autism Spectrum Disorder). Social cues didn't always come naturally to me, and I often felt isolated. Because of that, some moments in Michael's childhood portrayed in the film resonated deeply with me. While Michael was never officially diagnosed with anything, the movie captures the experience of feeling misunderstood, different, and lonely despite being surrounded by people. What moved me most is how music became a way for him to connect with others and express emotions that were difficult to put into words. As someone who's neurodivergent, I related to the idea of finding your place in the world through creativity, imagination, and the communities that form around the things you love. It honestly reminded me of Kingdom Hearts and the concept of Nobodies—people searching for connection, identity, and belonging. For many neurodivergent people, there's a journey of learning to stop masking, accept who you are, and find people who genuinely appreciate you for yourself. This movie wasn't just about Michael Jackson for me. It reminded me of my own childhood and how important it is to find a community where you can truly be yourself.

One thing that made this movie hit differently for me is that Michael Jackson was always kind of present in my life before I really knew who he was. Back in elementary school, I remember visiting my uncle's house during spring break and watching the original Jackson family miniseries. At the time, I didn't fully understand who Michael Jackson was or why he was so important. It wasn't until I was in 5th grade and heard about his passing that I realized just how massive his impact was on the world. I also remember seeing footage of the Pepsi commercial accident where his hair caught on fire. Watching that moment recreated in the movie was heartbreaking, especially knowing what he went through behind the scenes. The movie also got me thinking about fathers and how complicated those relationships can be. Joe Jackson undeniably helped Michael and his brothers achieve success, but he was also incredibly controlling. It felt like he wanted to keep the family together under his direction instead of allowing them to branch out and build their own identities and careers. At times, it even seemed like he struggled with seeing his son become a bigger star than he ever could have imagined. In a strange way, it made me reflect on my own dad. When I was younger, he was very hard on me during basketball practice. I was only 8 or 9 years old, and I remember feeling frustrated whenever I made mistakes. The same thing happened with bowling when I would lose to my aunts or sister. Looking back, I know he wanted me to be competitive and push myself, but as a kid it wasn't always easy. Things changed when we moved to Indianapolis and I started taekwondo. My dad became one of my biggest supporters. We spent time watching Karate Kid, Bruce Lee films, Jackie Chan movies, and Rush Hour together. While I loved all of those, I was especially inspired by Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Jackie Chan Adventures. After my parents divorced, our relationship continued to evolve. Even though we weren't always close in the same way, he kept up with my progress in taekwondo and supported me throughout my martial arts journey. By the time I graduated college, I had earned my 3rd-degree black belt, and I know he was proud of how far I had come. That's why this movie resonated with me. It's not just about music. It's about family, expectations, childhood dreams, complicated parent-child relationships, and finding your own path while still appreciating the people who helped shape you.

We gotta thank Chris. If I meet him again at the store, I would say this: " Hey Chris, thanks again for sharing your thoughts on "Dirty Diana." I'm definitely going to give it another listen. This movie has honestly made me want to get back into my old habit of revisiting Michael Jackson's entire catalog and rediscovering songs I either missed or forgot about over the years. I used to be obsessed with tracks like "Blue Gangsta," "Remember the Time," and "In the Closet." By the time Billie Jean came on during the movie, I was practically singing and dancing in my seat. 😂 My best friend and her cousins are huge MJ fans, and one of them is a dancer who performs both pop and K-pop choreography. Seeing how Michael's influence continues to inspire dancers, performers, and creators decades later is pretty incredible. No matter where people stand on Michael Jackson, it's impossible to deny his impact on music, entertainment, fashion, dance, and popular culture. Alongside legends like Prince, he'll always be remembered as the King of Pop. What inspires me most isn't just the music—it's the creativity and vision. Michael wasn't afraid to dream big, build worlds through his art, and create experiences that connected people across cultures and generations. As someone who's neurodivergent, I relate to that desire to imagine something different and bring it into reality.

If some of yall haven't watch Jackson's American Dream can yall react to that or if everybody has can yall do a rewatch?

CHRISXGAMESALOT

If that was the case she would've agreed to be in the film especially since she's touring and this movie would be great marketing for it.

M

Yup! Eddie Van Halen said it was more like "nobodys going to know i did a solo for this kid" but little did he know that song would win record of the year at the grammys

M

Okay, so when it comes to the singing, Jaafar said he was singing live during every single performance. HOWEVER, he also said they mixed his voice with Michael's. For example, during the Bad performance at the end, when he says, "Lay it on me, alright," that's Jaafar's voice. They blended his vocals with Michael's, so one word or phrase could be Michael's and the next could be Jaafar's. That said, the majority of the concert vocals were recordings from Michael's actual live performances. They mainly used audio from the Wembley concerts as a reference and source for many of the performance scenes. Another example is the Beat It studio scene. That was Jaafar singing over Michael's vocals. He just sounded so similar to Michael that a lot of people couldn't tell the difference. They basically mixed the two voices together throughout parts of the film rather than using only one or the other. On the other hand, the Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough studio scene was Jaafar singing completely on his own. He confirmed that himself.

M

Yes, thank you! I was going to link it myself because a lot of people thought they only did it for the film, but I'm like, NOOO—he actually did it. 😂

M

Yes, so this film went through a lot of cuts and changes because of legal reasons. They actually filmed a lot of material that took place after 1988, but they weren't able to use it in the final movie. However, the filmmakers have said that the sequel won't necessarily be told in chronological order, which means they can use a lot of the footage that was cut from the first film. As of now, they've confirmed that roughly 30% of the sequel has already been filmed or recorded. They've also confirmed that the sequel will include the Super Bowl performance and Michael's marriages. Production is currently expected to begin again at the end of this year, so it sounds like they're planning to make use of as much of that previously filmed material as possible.

The Normies

lol navi misstyped it in OBS and then rana copied it hahaha

The Normies

okay i was like naming a child blanket is actually crazy - ketty

VenturaInTheBaja

So they have been exiled to France for their transgressions against Michael Jackson. This will suffice. 👍

Andre Watt

Naw let Pat get a monkey. I wanna see a irl Always Sunny episode

HouseDogget

Great acting. Tyler Perry level writing.

Cynara Cherry-Cary

there was footage of that final jackson 5 concert where Michael announced it was the last tour. it is funny af. I think right before he did it he invited the entire family on stage.

Cynara Cherry-Cary

also of his sisters, Michael was closest to LaToya due to age, and of his brothers Marlon who was a year older than him. In janet's documentary she said MJ became distant after Thriller came out and her only thing she can think why was due to him feeling like the family didn't understand him. Marriage was the main way that the Jackson kids got away from Joseph's influence as they were devoutly Jehovah's Witnesses (Latoya and MJ used apparently used to do ministry in the neighborhood as teens).

Cynara Cherry-Cary

BTW not being able to watch The Jackson Family Variety show is a crime and CBS can burn for that bc, they copyrighted the youtube episodes that was out when he passed away back in 2009.
