The bastards do have family names they could take, just like Addam and Alyn. Ulf is Rhaenyra's uncle in the show. He explains in S2 that he's the bastard son of Baelon Targaryen, making him the half-brother of Viserys and Daemon. That's a show-only addition, but I like it, especially since Ulf and Hugh are taking on their shared grandparents dragons! Hugh is also given a stronger Targaryen connection in the show. He's portrayed as the grandson of King Jaehaerys through Princess Saera, who was exiled and became a super wealthy, high-class courtesan in Essos. We even see several of her sons (who she had with different leadership families across Essos throughout her time as a courtesan) attend the Great Council in the books, which is the event we see at the beginning in the S1 premiere. My issue with this change is that Hugh's backstory doesn't really fit being her son. If Saera were truly his mother, it's hard to believe he'd have grown up in the poverty and hardship the show depicts, since Saera became extremely wealthy and is said to have supported/loved her sons unlike how she was treated by Jaehaerys. So yes, they're both direct Targaryens by blood and do have a "name". The real reason they aren't legitimized is political/personal reasons. Elevating two lowborn bastards to full Targaryen status would put them on the same level as the royal family (but not ahead in any succession anytime soon), and I seriously doubt Daemon has any interest in calling Ulf "brother", and Hugh "cousin!"😂

The comments about checking the dragon is crazy how would he do walk over there and hope the dragon don't try to kill him or send the kid over their and hope he don't run away

Also Daemon might have some crazy suggestions but his suggestions to take out the Hightower army was a great ideal even at the meeting he pretty much said he would fight even if it killed him he just didn't want to risk his people lives and I believe they have the second biggest army and they are the most opposed to the blacks

I would love to see a reaction to the new ATLA movie trailer, it’s a breath of fresh air from the live action lol

The Avatar live action to me is like if you asked AI to make a live action version of ATLA. I'm sorry to those that like it, but I just cannot bring myself to care. Even with the writing put aside, which people have already called out plenty and I agree with all of it, it just LOOKS like crap visually. ESPECIALLY when put next to OPLA, Suraj in this vid says that we shouldn't expect it to look better than what it looks like and I highly disagree because the OPLA looks miles better - in set design, colour, costume design, special effects, damn near everything - and they're both Netflix shows. Why should I have to accept Avatar's Live action looking mid when I can look across the street and see OPLA looking way better? And if anything, OPLA should look like the worse one because despite both being fantasy animated shows that the live actions are based off, OP is much more grand (and goofier) in scale and thus visually has the harder job you'd think, yet OPLA still looks better lol.

No, Suraj, I do not, in fact, "know my bones". 😆 I had to look up what the 2 forearm bones are called, since that episode reminded me that we distinctly see both of them broken when Sensui "gentle fist"s Yusuke's forearm.
