#SundayRundown I think you guys are kind of missing the point, Logan’s struggle, him being a mutant, is that he’s treated like nothing but an animal. He got his claws. Because scientists saw him as nothing but a test subject, it’s de-humanizing. They didn’t even see him or the others as people, just weapons. And Logan struggles with that constantly, he wants to be a man but his powers and his past make him think that he’s nothing better than an animal. And this episode is basically him relapsing because he only sees himself valuable as a weapon. So yeah, Logan gets the adamantium claws back, but it’s endorsing what these inhumane scientists programmed into him with trauma. That he’s not a person, he’s just an animal, he’s just a weapon.

Do all 3 Wolverine movies! I’m one of the few people who likes Origins 😅 I’m not denying that it’s not a paricularly good movie, it just came out at the perfect time for me Context with Deathstrike. Her dad created the adamantium bonding process, and it seems he died in the explosion of the weapon x facility when Logan escaped, so she became a cyborg to take revenge on him. They dated before he got the adamantium Holy shit it’s The Brood! Marvel’s knock off xenomorphs! There was a similar alien species in one of the old episodes, I think that’s what Logan was referencing about a similar scent •Oh my god they even did a “Game over!” 😂 Speaking of, when we getting the other Alien films? Also Predator Yuriko’s not in The Wolverine. I think you’re thinking of both Yukio and Mariko. Deathstrike was only in X2 Omega Red’s tendrils are made of carbonadium, the soviet union’s attempt to recreate adamantium. It’s radioactive and can hamper healing factors The weapon x team is called Team X. They said it once or twice in this episode Kestrel! That’s will.i.am’s character! He doesn’t use the name in the movie Graydon Creed is an anti mutant advocate from the original show who forms a terrorist group called the Friends of Humanity who appeared in S1 of 97. He was actually namedropped in the S1 finale as rising in polls while President Kelley is getting some heat. Sabertooth is actually named Graydon Sr instead of Victor in the old show, which is used to expose Jr as the son of a mutant

#SundayRundown - The various characters that Morph turned into this episode were: Wolverine, Sasquatch, Puck, The Thing, Guardian, Deadpool, Silver Samurai, Spider-Man, Cyclops & Jean Gray. Sasquatch, Puck, and Guardian are canadian superheroes who are members of the canadian’s government team, Alpha Flight. Wolverine was a member of Alpha Flight in the original show but said “Fuck Canada!” and joined the X-Men. Also we don’t need to see the damn X-Men movies, LISTEN TO SPIDEY AND JUST WATCH THE OG SHOW, IT DOES EVERYTHING THE MOVIES DO BUT BETTER!

Step B.

Hard agree, and not just because I really want them to get into the animated Marvel properties. The movies are fine, some better than others, but they're so neutered in comparison as well as having a hard-on for Wolverine

#sundayrundown The Brood are a parasitic alien race (think xenomorph bugs) they never used them in the original show (just the Japanese intro). Lady Deathstrike in this is a combination of Mariko Yashida the love interest from Frank Miller’s “Wolverine” graphic novel and the actual Yuriko Oyama/Lady D who hates Logan for the death of her father from the comics. Yes the second live-action movie badly adapted Miller’s “Wolverine” story. There’s a ton of other Weapon X related characters that get teased here my personal favorites being X-23/Laura Kinney and Fantomex as their both part of one of the best X-Force line ups (X-Force isn’t like Taskforce X as Suraj assumed but rather a secret mutant hit squad that kills any and all individuals and organizations that want to kill mutants). Also Morph turns into several members of Canada’s prime superhero team Alpha Flight. There’s obviously a lot of visual references to classic sci-fi horror

#SundayRundown Love the reaction as always! So time for me to give some fun comic references and original series trivia that weren’t caught by y’all because you have lives and don’t dedicate yourself to absorbing as much X-Men knowledge as you can until your brain melts. So the Brood are interesting in relation to the original series because the original writers wanted to use the Brood but weren’t allowed so they created an almost identical parasitic bug alien species called the Collective that weren’t as bloody. Which is why Wolverine goes ‘smelled something similar before’. You googled Graydon Creed so I can just skim over him but Sabertooth did try to kill Graydon in the original series but did fumble the bag and now through a few background news reports in ‘97 we know he’s running for president on an anti-mutant campaign. Lastly is Wolverine turning into a Brood. It’s an interesting subversion of the comic where Wolverine is the only X-Man able to resist the infestation because of his healing factor while the others had to have a magic space whale save them by aborting the Brood embryos inside them. That iconic Wolverine as a Brood though is from a comic cover during that arc and is metal as fuck.
