Hey ya’ll, the girls will be watching this video I just finished up editing. Lots of creative liberties were taken to have this maintain some semblance of a narrative thread—but I really like how it turned out and I had a lot of fun editing it!The girls will be watching this video on Wednesday and I have told them it's the finale of the undertaker series. (Watch the end of the video if you’re confused)Would love to hear any feedback. I may be able to make some minor adjustments but this feels good to me. Maybe adding more captions to make sure certain dialogue bits aren’t missed. Since it's a bit long, I will tell the girls to feel free to pause before or after any of the WrestleMania matches in this vid to discuss or take 5 min.

First off Suraj, your work on this series has been great & you deserve all the praise I have minor tweaks/suggestions that you could look into if you have time - this isn’t TOO major but I would add maybe 2-4 minutes showing when Kane & Undertake aligned in 1998 as it ties into the betrayal from Paul and the formation of the Ministry & issues with the Corporation - I would put the Randy stuff in chronological order so the girls won’t be confused because I can see them being lost with the Randy stuff, it’s too much back and forth IMO. I would say to line it up with its exact timeline. When it reaches Taker in 02, that’s when I would insert the Randy clips, have it line up chronologically to make it simpler since they may mess, be confused by or forget things - replace Undertaker’s 2000 return with the one from Judgement Day instead of the one on RAW. Better build up & more of a hype moment

Love it. Will try to add the Kane/Und brothers of destruction stuff if I am able. Are we sure they will be as confused as Randy as we are? Since we know the exact timeline for Randy, it may be confusing but since the dates aren’t mentioned here, maybe it won’t be confusing for the girls? I just want them to be thinking of Randy more often throughout the video rather than like 45 minutes in. I can’t seem to find the other judgement day entrance. For some reason I thought that clip was it that I included

Yeah, that summer of Kane & Undertaker in 98 was good content. Especially when they broke Vince’s leg 😭 Oh okay, maybe it could work. I only thought in the video there’s a gap between the 2002 stuff and 2003 stuff where as just putting the 2002 stuff of Taker & Orton together might be easier? Idk just a thought I had so the info would be as easy as possible. I recommend adding Orton RKOing Stacey Keibler as part of the build up to the last match. It was one of the things that cemented his character as a POS for years.

Damn I do like the return you sent better simply because it teas up Undertaker vs H’s mania match better with the choke slam to H at the end. I’m considering now possibly giving them a Sep video for a brothers of destruction promo package. Next poll will be a BoD match and the promo packages will be attached to that.

In the tapestry that is wrestling, there are so many characters and stories we could do. Would love to get these on a poll, but I know a lot of people have been clamoring for the Roman and Cody bloodline story that I promised a year back.

I have nothing to add, I pretty much agree with everything Zeee said. Just wanted to say thanks for this, it's my favourite thing you guys do on the channel and keep up the good work! I also wanted to add - though I'm sure you already know this but just in case - there's a channel on Youtube called TH14 that does all the "Story Of ____" vids and they have tons of clips you can maybe use for docu stuff like this (maybe you already do!), and I have no idea how their channel hasn't been nuked yet but they seem to have some magic at getting around WWE's copyright stuff lol, might be worth trying to learn their secrets! ;) Jk. Kind of. P.S. Can't wait till we see the girl's reactions to American Badass Taker, just because I think it'll be hilarious since it's such a big departure from the Taker stuff before it lmao, hell this vid isn't even the peak of that Taker era yet, he REALLY gets into that persona after this haha.

It's fucking insane, and it's not like they're a small channel either, they have like 1 mil subs lmaoooooo. Although actually, I have a theory that maybe they have some sort of connection/arrangement with WWE. There's videos on the WWE Vault channel that are also "Story Of ____" vids and they're very similar in terms of feel to TH14's, I've long suspected it's the same person doing both...but we may never know!

That’s a good point! I’m rewatching it for a second time. Yeah, the back & forth is jarring when you get to the 2000s. In the video, we go from 99 when Taker is associated with Big Show, he leaves then we go to 2002, then we go to 2000, 2002, 2001 then back to 2002, then all the way back to 1999. That part alone makes me feel like making this all chronological would be 100% better. Even I kinda went “huh” and I know the order 😭.

That’ll do, Suraj. That’ll do! Now, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we need to get some rankings and reactions to all time promos and entrances. I’d love to see how “women react to Randy Savages top 3 promos (cream of the crop!)” does in reels and stuff. I just think there are so many rankings and shorter style vids we could be supplementing. I understand there’s not infinite time for everyone, but I strongly feel we should have already done a video where the girls rate top 5 Shawn Michaels HBK’s fits. Or maybe the girls watch some Wrestle fails video? Or the SHOCKMASTER intro? Every Wednesday we need a 2-3 min quick vid, more content more engagement more $$$ OHHHH YEAAHHHHH (macho man obvs)

Suraj, this is excellent. Love the idea to sprinkle in the Randy clips for long-term booking. I do wonder whether the sudden shift to Undertaker dressed as a biker will be confusing, but I'm not sure there's anything more you can do to explain why, especially considering there wasn't a whole lot done by WWE at the time it happened to explain why. It might even be funnier to just call out the elephant in the room and just put something like "Yes, he's a biker now. No, there's no further explanation" on the screen. It can't be any more immersion-breaking than the character change itself, and that will let them move on without questioning what they're seeing for too long.

I think I got you. I’m gonna shift the Randy stuff as well as possibly take this whole big show segment out to shorten the time. I just kind of wanted them to experience The Rock in his prime. Maybe I can slide that spot in where it makes more sense.

I was not aware of this channel thank you for the find!! I had been scouring clips and having to deal with random peoples watermarks but just thankful people have uploaded them in the first place. Unfortunately WWE vault Got rid of most of their old RAWS.

Tbh, I would keep the Big Show-Rock N Sock stuff since it’s short, they experience prime Rock for a sec & you eventually spin back to Big Show as a Mania opponent anyway. I would get rid of the RNN segments and, if you ideally just do chronologically, just go from the injury to his first update on RAW then right into Evolution. I feel like those segments are more fun in hindsight for us fans than as a narrative. I’m watching it for a 3rd time & that’s really my only & last change I’d consider. Everything else is great. But yeah, I think straight forward timeline & cutting the RNN works better & shortens the video a bit.

I think Suraj did his best with that by showing Taker in 99 slowly transitioning before he went on hiatus. In kayfabe they didn’t ever really explain so Suraj can only go by what they gave us.

This is great. Amazing work. My only notes are, I wonder if it needs a little bit context at the start, just to say how the WWE was continuing down a darker, edgier path in the Attitude era. And personally I’d also lose the clip of Undertaker leaving (while in regular clothes) and just put in a bit of text about how he “left”, so the return in new style of ABA Taker hits more.

Gotta keep Rock in there as Marketa really only knows him as an actor and he has lost his charisma a bit, I didn’t realize how much until seeing him again in your video… rock was an absolute beast on the mic. How lucky were we to have experienced him back then in WWE.

Finally got around to watching this as a whole and it was immaculate, i'm a burgeoning editor and the idea of condensing Takers career down into informational snippets while still being entertaining seems daunting. Not only is it impressive to see a multi decade career laid out in this format but to allow room for newcomers to react and experience this unique story is impressive. Thank you for sharing this and while I assume the breadth of this project was daunting I want to assure you that future projects in the same vein will be appreciated!
