If this is a chance for you to watch The Godfather, I guess I'll take it.

Conor Philbey

So fun fact, the scene of Chris telling Tony about Adriana was actually filmed for season 5 but they decided not to use it because they felt it works better if you didn't know Chris told Tony before Ade is killed. Also I would be down for the God Father plan

Dante Sparda

This is the episode where we see how emotionally distant Tony and Christopher have become. Please watch The Godfather before you finish the show

Jose Torres

She is from stranger things guys, MRS WHEELER lol.... chris's random baby momma

Jose Torres

oh and yes do the godfathers!

phunkrsd

To be honest, I think the moment already passed to watch The Godfather and having it be a fun part of recognizing certain callbacks and references in the show! So I would be fine with you guys just finishing the show and watching it after, if you happen to somewhere/sometime.

Hank Scorpio

They made the right choice. If they put that scene in before she was killed, it would've taken all the suspense out of the scene with Sil driving Ade to her death. It's nice that they found a way to include it later though because its an incredibly well acted scene from both James and Michael.

J

I think the time for the godfather watch has passed us by a while ago. I think you should just finish the show first.

Stan the Man

*** So here is where I, Stan Thee Man, reveal once and for all who Paulie’s true biological father is. I shall impart this almighty wisdom…NOW*** So remember back all those episodes ago where I said there’s one more detail that kinda proves who Paulie’s father is but I cannot say what it is yet due to spoileroonies? Well buckle up. It’s this episode and the detail is this: Recall that we knoweth Paulie’s biological father is named Russ, it ‘Tis revealed Russ served in world war 2 & got in on with a Nun. In this episode Paulie is asked by his doctor “do you have a family history of prostate cancer?” Paulie says he doesn’t know. Well guess who mentioned he had prostate cancer at one point? That’s right. Russ motherfudging Fegoli from the season 5 episode “Marco Polo”(just as a refresh it’s the episode where they celebrate Carmela’s dad’s birthday. Then later Tony and Carmela clap cheeks in the pool. I bet Tony was tasting that chlorine for days after. But I digress). So. Let’s put it all together now. We’ve got the name Russ. We’ve got world war 2. We’ve got that Russ Fegoli was getting laid so much in WW2 he had his own nickname cause he had crabs so bad. We’ve got the Vatican connection(Paulie has a vision the Virgin Mary) . Russ Fegoli worked at the Vatican with the ambassador & met the pope. And we’ve got prostate cancer. Paulie’s biological father was Russ Fegoli. This asshole: (If his photo doesn’t show up I’ll do it in a reply)

Jose Torres

paulies a chip off the ol block lol

Stan the Man

Yet more proof the supernatural exists in Sopranos. We see the Virgin Mary in the mirror before Paulie does. And she’s floating. On the stage. Of a strip club. And the scene with Chris and Tony towards the end isn’t random. They were literally bonding over the murder of Chris’s girlfriend prior to this. The episode is about the “high” of the ride and chasing it after it’s over. Tony and Chris try to keep reliving the moment and everytime it’s more awkward and forced. These is how far their relationship has deteriorated. To feel anything they have to commit robbery, kill someone, then reminisce over how close they are because of the people they’ve murdered.

Adam Vialpando

Damn, Suraj kinda clocked why it was so awkward between Tony and Chris at the end there.

Alexis Cardarella

Suraj.. you should definitely get your nose checked out. lol You can actually break your nose and it not even bleed. Mine broke or fractured as a kid and it either gave me a deviated septum or made it a pre-existing one worse.. I ended up getting it checked out a few years ago finally and discovered my right airway was 90% closed. Explained my chronic sinusitis and terrible sleep.. (In part, I also found out i'm severely allergic to everything in the midwest.) Ended up getting a septoplasty, among other things. Nose is still deviated, but much better. Thank fuck I don't have sleep apnea (which I was convinced I did) and have to use a cpap machine. lol

NICK Luna

Im all in for a godfather watch but let me just say, The godfather 3 is the most quoted on the sopranos.

Moe Davinci

I vote to finish the show first for continuity sake, perhap even double up on episodes to expedite getting to the Godfather series. Also, are we getting a Rush Hour 3? .

Stanley Etienne

I don't understand what the problem is with watching The Godfather films. Is it because of the 3 hours run time? Plenty of reactors all over has watched them and loved them. Both 1 and 2, and even 3. Just get on with it.

Adam Vialpando

Sometimes when you feel like you HAVE to watch a movie it becomes a chore. When people are constantly on you to watch something it can suck the excitement out. So they end up watching something that seems more interesting to them instead.

Stanley Etienne

Oh, I could of sworn they were reactors who react to movie and TV shows. My mistake

real1

Sopranos in my top 5 now. Also Paulie is just a terrible human being 😭.

Raul Panzar

Please react to all 3 Godfathers. Part 3 is still good, it just gets flack because the first 2 movies are 10's and the third is an 8.

Javi

🤣🤣🤣

Hank Scorpio

I've been waiting for months (pretty much since you guys started the show) for the reaction to the Virgin Mary scene. 2nd scariest scene in the show for me (other than a certain scene with Dr Melfi in Season 3...) even when I know its gonna happen. Fun Fact: If you rewatch that scene, you can see the Virgin Mary in the mirror when Paulie first walks in.

Veya

@adam that would be a more sound argument if this wasn't one of the most commercialized and content pilled channels out there lol. they react to nearly every current/hype show out there so stuff being a chore doesn't seem like it would be too big of a deal. with the godfather thing, aside from catching references which can be fun, at this point it's also slightly negatively affecting the reaction to this show, last week's emotional scene being a good example. i think people are just harping on it because it really doesn't seem like that big of a deal for such a commercial channel to just do it.

Adam Vialpando

You just hit on another thing, they are one of the most commercial channels BECAUSE they react to current hype shows. Much more people would watch them react to the newest shows and films instead of Godfather. Not saying Godfather isn't going to get views, because it will AND is an absolute classic. But you have my original point of them maybe not being interested in it combined with the fact it's a 50 year old movie and unlikely to get the same kind of engagement of something more hype. So they really have no pressure or anything pushing them to prioritize Godfather. Most of the stuff that they react to that isn't current will be something they feel less pressured to watch

Adam Vialpando

@Stanley So you would want them to watch something that they aren't enthusiastic about and might be in a bad mood to watch? Then people will complain that they don't seem into it. I would rather they get to it when they're in the mood so they can enjoy it.

Veya

the idea of change explored in the show isn't just tied to the mob, it's also tied to people with wider societal constraints. unethical consumption and our current form of capitalism is less immediate than the mob (well, sometimes) but it's still there and is a part of the lives of people the way the mob is part of their lives and tying them down. david chase has said the show isn't really about change not being possible, more that it's very difficult. aside from the mob, this also applies to again, people tied to many aspects of modern society. the title "the ride" also has subtle links to deeper underlying themes of the season, like the ojibwe quote about the wind that was in the hospital when tony was still staying there. if you go back and read the quote it'll become more apparent how it links to the stories here. the ending with paulie and his mother links to it as well. he looks outside and sees the wind. paulie and tony have both been linked to the wind since the hospital episode earlier the season (the ending of that episode links them through imagery and the editing). both of them have had polar opposite relationships with their mother and different outlooks on spiritual matters and that difference rears its head in this episode as well.

atomicdog

I'd prefer if you guys just finished the Sapranos at this point, you've got the last half of the last season left, I don't think the Godfather references are going to be frequent or important enough at that point. I think the only particularly important one was last episode, so- finish the show! I'm excited to see what you guys think of the rest of the season.

Elizabeth C

34:40 Suraj and Navi making the same expression at Chris's joke ha!

Dante Sparda

It’s more the fact they were supposed to watch the Godfather movies a year ago and they have to yell and scream whenever the Sopranos mentions the Godfather so they don’t get spoilers

SunnydaleClassof99

Hopefully they can watch it soon because the sooner they watch The Godfather the sooner they can watch Jane Austen's Mafia!

SunnydaleClassof99

100% The Godfather 3 gets a bum rap. It's not as amazing as two culturally defining classics but it's a very good movie. Not watching it is like reading the first 2/3 of a book then never finishing.

SunnydaleClassof99

#SundayRundown Back in 2X9 after Christopher was shot & in a coma he said he died & went to hell. Junior's enforcer Mikey Palmice was there, he told Christopher tell Paulie 3 o'clock. That's the time Paulie calls his doctor for the test results when he can't sleep in this episode.

Flora Smith

Tony understands exactly what he’s doing when he encourages Christopher to drink - it’s the same passive aggressive sabotage he inflicted on both Tony B and Janice when they were trying to improve themselves. He can’t tolerate positive change in people close to him because he can’t achieve it himself. Also, Carm 💯 knows Adriana’s dead, she’s just willfully in denial

Dante Sparda

As long as they’re not yelling whenever it gets mentioned like they did last episode and miss important dialogue I’ll accept them watching the Godfather movies after the show

mbdd

#sundayrundown watch the godfather

Chris girl is the mom for stranger things
