2026-09-24 08:00 Yeah, this is always tough to watch especially tough to read in the manga. But I do want to say it's also very well done. I've seen a variety of opinions on this episode and I remember it causing a stir when it came out too, but the one that I most disagreed with is that just because something makes you uncomfortable, it needs to be either censored or removed from media. I totally get not liking this and even not wanting to continue following the story, but I've seen the sentiment that Kei Urana should have removed this part of Amo's story or toned it down. . Which I feel is so disrespectful to the effort Urana has done in creating this manga. I've seen a lot of media in my life anime, manga, and comics. You get good at recognizing who uses this content as a way to enhance the story and those who use it as fetish material. The context of who and how they are creating these works is important when discussing if they are actually insensitive. In the case of Kei Urana, she is a woman who also dresses alternatively and has shown and will show more diverse characters in Gachiakuta, similar to Shirohama the female mangaka of Witch Hat Atelier you see first hand how the characters are portrayed with respect in both of their stories and how them being woman themselves adds context to how some women are treated in the same stories. I obviously don't know them personally, but I'm certain that just by them existing as women they have had to deal with some form of harassment in their life, and when someone says they can't show that in any form because it makes THEM "uncomfortable" well maybe that's the point. And maybe they have the right to say something or make something from real life inspiration into their creative works. Which when done well like with Amo, I think that makes them even more of a great artist.

It's never played for laughs and the choice to make the dissociation scenes childlike but also sinister works so well especially when in the end Amo comes to terms with knowing she has been Sexually Abused. 2026-09-25 21:00 I knew this one would wreck you and tried real hard not to give any warning. The thing with this one I haven't really hammered out is if Amo was disassociating entirely on her own, or if it was the Trafficker's powers with the boots being more similar to how Amo uses it herself (since it doesn't show them functioning different against the "angel"). Bit of a stretch, but that could partially explain how he was ..... "successful" (for lack of a better term) as a trafficker and maybe in part how he got Amo's mom to sell her in the first place (of course it could just as believably be pure poverty). That's my head canon at least, and I haven't looked to see if there's an official answer yet.

Edit: kind of upset I didn't initially spell this out but I also think those moments when it goes into child like animation is the expression of his power. Every time that happens Amo starts thinking along the lines of "he loves me". At the end though when he can't use the boots is when we get the dark screens and she pieces together what actually happened.

This episode really highlights how even people can be even worse the trash left on the ground. I do wanna shout out Amo’s VA Celeste Perez. I think her performance is amazing. The way she goes from childish, delusional, and to total crash out is incredible. She only in two other shows y’all have reacted to so far. She plays Konomi Okonogi Kaiju no 8 and Sharon (Yor’s Coworker) in Spy x Family
