something interesting with the way pavi and nisha interact with the anomaly, when pavi touches it originally she’s seeing her dad take her away from seemingly nisha, when she touches it in the faceless den she sees korra flying towards republic city, it’s ONLY when nisha touches pavi that the anomaly shows them the calamity, i don’t really know what that means if it’s somehow connected to nisha and pavi’s perceptual fear of the avatar, or if them both touching has some kind of effect.

One of the best things about these episodes is showing how all these groups have merit and faults.

Loved the "spirit tests" from the outsider White Lotus. Something that really stood out to me was that Karthik was the only one who gave her a specfic task and reasoning up front. Obviously we know Karthik is blinded by attachment to her but I think this really showed that Karthik wasn't really testing her at all so much as just putting up a front with technical bending proficiency without really digging into the spiritual side of it since the others weren't air benders. Thinking about his test probably wasn't even that difficult since it would show more control if she had to generate the currents around the leaf itself and not disturb it vs a human body.

Ok I have a couple notes to think about and I while I'm almost completely positive that the show runners are going to ignore the actual issues brought up by their story I still want you to genuinely consider these points of contention I have. 1. Elora is not oppressing benders. Elora is conscripting through force. You are welcome to criticize that practice but it's not creating a wealthy class or a privileged group it is literally taking those with the ability to make a huge change and forcing them do so for the survival of everyone. Like any military group they are well fed, overworked, and they face danger first because they are the ones best equipped to handle it. What would have happened during that storm had a bunch of untrained benders and trained non benders against the storm??? The loss of life would have been substantial. Again these people are in the worst situation. A literal apocalypse with perpetual storms and struggle. when struggling for survival people take extreme measures. 2. The faceless are thieves, bandits, and morally corrupt. Had they shown the benders being actually oppressed I may have had different feelings but the showrunners trying to portray the faceless as the underground railroad when they are the military might of Elora, They are well fed, paid, and by in large respected. YES they are overworked and forced into danger. But it's a danger that, again, the story shows that ONLY they are able to combat because they repeatedly show that even trained military personnel are no match for a bender of any skill level. And before you jump in saying that Non benders in other shows (namely Sokka or Tai Lee) have been able to defend themselves we're not talking about in a street fight. We're talking about combating nature itself. To further argue my point the faceless are stealing food from a city that is running low on supplies as it is. This isn't a crime that hurts no. this is food that goes to the city, to children, to schools, to the bending brigade. But they need the food to survive? They put themselves in the situation where they could not longer receive rations then they proceeded to steal not only their allotted share but enough for them all to take an extended journey on a quest that has zero evidence that it will succeed. The belief that there is a peaceful utopia where everyone gets along perfectly and there is no suffering or strife is beyond a pipe dream. This isn't a one to one equivalency of oppression and that's what the show runners would have you believe with their presentation yet their example of a woe is me is that my grandfather was conscripted from his bakery and in the line of duty he died. Do you see what I'm saying? Everyone is in real danger. 3. Nisha was just in the wrong for showing herself as the Avatar. But she was ALWAYS going to show herself as the avatar. She works exceptionally hard to be who she thinks she is supposed to be and she's been taught that what she is is a GOOD thing. But then she's forced into hiding and inaction even though bad things continually happen in the city. She was always going to do it. She's 9. And the city was never going to be ready for it. Because even the best evidence showing that Avatars are good still shows that Korra at best caused the cataclysm due to her inactivity at worst that she's directly responsible for it. Am I mad at her? No. But she is responsible for her actions. And I'm not giving her a pass for it. But I'm also not angry at her for being who she was always going to be.
