I think Murphy didn't sacrifice himself because it's not who he is. Ultimately he is a survivor and even if he really loves Emori, it's just not him to sacrifice himself. Love this episod and all the parallel to other seasons!

Throughout this series I’m pretty surprised most of everyone adopted this black and white view of Clark’s decisions. I didn’t necessarily agree with all her decisions but I never thought she was selfish in her decisions. I always thought she was very utilitarian.. which in an apocalyptic world would seem the only way to go about things.. Disagreeing with her otherwise (all the characters that did) was just a means of dramatic purpose.
