The Normies

Something strange is happening with our Patreon posts where they keep reverting back to drafts. Let us know if the comments if this post looks normal to you!

It's here, but where is season finale (16)? :(

Zen Reacts

youll understand once you meet Weiss' dad

Norrin Radd

There’s a reason why this show is beloved. Just hang in there and stick with Rana.

Em

I love this episode because it shows that both Weiss and Blake have points. Blake's points are valid when she says Weiss can't blame all faunus for the acts of a few, but Weiss is correct when she says the White Fang is, indeed, a terrorist group. It shows both sides well, and how it affected both girls.

Yeah, season 1 is easily the worst season but it’s excusable considering the circumstances. It’s one of those shows that gets better over time. *cough cough* except vol 5 *cough cough*

Yeeaaaahhh.......just wait till you meet papa schnee and fam then see how privileged Weiss is. I mean...she is.....buuuuuuuuuut........

This episode unlike many of the split episodes prior is a full episode within itself, as will all future episodes be. I wouldn't expect multi-episode drops or this show again outside them reviving end-of-the-month double drops. Even then, I think double and triple drops should not be expected, just enjoyed when they appear.

Bejo

I mean, she said that she grew up watching people around her disappear and get killed. I wouldnt exactly call that naive rich girl whining. Cant wait for more reactions, wish you guys could catch up sooner.

Weiss never said anything bad about faunus as a whole. She always referred to White Fang members, criminal faunus and that blonde guy as "those faunus". Is it racist to assume that every faunus is a criminal? Of course. Did she? Nope. She assumes that every criminal(!) faunus must be a part of the terrorist group. She never said anything bad to the bunny girl at school and her current problem with Blake is not her being a faunus but admitting to being a WF member, you know, the group that wants to kill humanity. I'm not saying that she's right in her assumptions about criminal faunus potentially being in a faunus terrorists group and that it isnt very very wrong, but I don't think that it's justified to claim that she is a giant racist that thinks that faunus are lesser beings.

Weiss is probably my least liked character up until now. even in the current events she isnt really likable to me. however i dont think weiss is racist in this current time but she is one of those people that ignore the racism around them

At no time (considering the point in the show) is it stated the white fang wants to kill humanity (except by Weiss). The fact that Weiss is saying the white fang wants to kill humanity is a huge assumption on her part. And the moment she started saying "those faunus" brought her into racist territory. Just because she hasn't said anything bad about a character that she's never interacted with doesn't mean she's not racist.

I love how into it Rana is, she's my spirit animal <3 Having said that, this should've been 15+16 guys, lame :(

Callie

just 2 more weeks til we hit volume 2!! absolutely can't wait the jump in quality is so noticeable and good! also y'all want fun rwby facts? here's one for you; if you look at the magazine rack in the first episode and you can see Truth from fma on a few of the magazine covers! Monty was a huge fan and i just think it's rly neat that they put that in there

Dom

Chris it’s not too late to hop on for the ride of RWBY.

Michael Diaz

So the white one is racist against the black one? Never woulda seen that coming. lol

Ryan Kosier

You guys are making fun on Weis for her dad "bringing his work home with him", but that isnt what she said. She said he was furious whenever he came home. Its implied child abuse. So your entire deal about ignorance, naivety, and privilege, is super ironic. Seems YOU guys are the one not knowing the whole story. Especially when you're defending LITERAL TERRORISTS.

Ryan Kosier

Also, the two new characters brought into this episode are ALSO based on fairy tales. Sun, the monkey faunus, is based on Son Wukong, a character from the Chinese legend Journey to the West. Penny is based on Pinnochio.

Rexamillion

Soooooo everyone likes to call Penny RWBY's Worst kept secret I'm sure you can guess why.

jaelindumpling

Weiss actually was abused by her father, but they don't go into that until later in the series

jaelindumpling

Also, I can't wait until you get to volume 2 because that opening also slaps

Yep, we’ve now had defense of the Grimm, abusive parents and terrorist organizations. Next week, “Hitler was an ok guy if you ignore the genocide stuff”. :D

MoxiePoxy

Yes to trying to get more of the Normies into this!!
