An important point about Indura is that it gives a ton of power but it basically drives you insane. Monspiet and Derieri essentially sacrificed their own sanity and turned themselves into zombies so that they could stop the archangels from killing even more demons. As humans we intuitively see the demons as monsters because they look evil and they do evil things, but even they have families and people that care about them. Monspiet and Derieri are perfect examples that demons aren't just wild beasts, some will go very far and even sacrifice themselves for the people they love. The underlying theme of the holy war which Meliodas pointed out last episode really shows in this episode. There is no good and evil in war, just two sides destroying and sacrificing everything to damage the other. Both the goddesses and the demons sacrifice any humanity they have because they have to since the other side is doing the same thing, it's a catch 22. You can see that Elizabeth doesn't hate the goddesses or the demons, she hates war. Elizabeth wants peace, not victory.
