Oh damn, we get treated early today! Nice job. (miss you, Spidey!)

If anyone thinks the story of Tommy Carcetti sounds vaguely familiar, google Martin O'Malley. In real life, Tommy was Irish, not Italian, and actually ran for President.

brilliant episode. cant wait for the rest of them in season 4/

And Herc is just trying to undo his own fuckup in the first place, getting that camera back that he didn't get permission to use.

them saying they want to go to Baltimore and go to the corners get some Pandemic, Gonna become the start of Snow on the Bluff instead of the Wire lol

It wasn’t Zenobia, it was Chandra that she diagnosed as psychoses

Marketa: "Herc BEEN stupid. Uh huh. Yup. Lol pretty much. I always gravitated more towards Carver since he at least seem to show signs of having a functioning brain early on.

After Wallace everyone besides Chris just expects kids to be killed in this show.

Carver and Herc both were dirty cops as they used excessive force and stole whenever they could. Carver only convinced Herc not to take the money the first time because he reminded Herc of the wire which could get them both caught. They both only got promotions due to Carver snitching for Burrell and Herc keeping his mouth shut about the bj (The Wires way of showing it's who you know, not what you know). The main reason Carver became better is due to Bunny. Carver had loyalty and admiration for him. So he took to heart when Bunny called him out for not having knowing anyone on the streets like mid-lvl bosses. He began S3 on top of a squad car yelling at a kid that he'd beat his ass and by the end of S3 he's out getting to know them. Bunny was his main inspiration to shape the kinda cop were seeing him become.

Exactly. That scene with Bunny and Carver was honestly one of the best in the entire show, even though it’s easy for people to miss their first (and even second) time watching. Carver’s realization that he might not have been doing real police work at all up until that point was special, but what was even more special is the fact that he chose to step into the right direction and try to be better like he is in this season. Season 4 is the shit!!!!

And yet, Herc scored higher on the sergeant test than Carver in season 1...different types of smarts

Are you confused as to the type of smart they were referring to? It was pretty clear....
