We have many questions about this, lol! Yelena's face is still cracking us up and made us remember iconic Floch face from last season. What do you think was going through her head? She seems to be extremely suspicious after hearing Armin outside of his cell. Oh boy...

Also, is psychopathic facial expression a side effect of being a Jaegerist?

Also also, If Floch's face was the face of 2021, what does Yelena's face say about 2022!?

Yo the face she's making looks like the guy who went to that basketball game with a sign of his own face and it went viral.

It's literally the same face in the manga and I still don't know.

I’m assuming that’s her reaction to Armin’s big ol’ lie “yeah guys, let’s go help Eren and Zeke meet up”. Sort of a threatening glance followed by “I believe in you”. At least that’s how I understood it while reading.

I'm guessing she's gauging whatever or not Armin was telling the truth about wanting to help Eren. Followed by a 'You better watch out, if you're planning on going going against Eren. I won't hesitate to kill you' kind of face.

Nick Comfort

To me it feels like she's deciding in her head whether or not their being truthful and she's deciding whether or not to kill them then she realizes oh shit we got an Ackerman and the colossal titan here with 2 other scouts who finished in the top 10 in evens class. I can't do shit better try to act friendly and maybe they will work with us

Jaeboleann

Yelena is literally me listening to any Lil Baby song💀💀

Thios

She was gauging whether Armin was legit, but I think she is crazy enough to have believed he was. For psychopathic facial expressions, correlation does not mean causation! And for 2022, Yelena is saying she's done with it XD

Saifu

Yelena is just trying to create memes at this point...

Tim Schulte

I think Armin just farted

MikeWest

She's noticing Armin's black Air Force 1's

Her face said nothing good mahout 2022 or her future involvement in the series….I’m saying what kept Mikasa from killing that crazy Zeke zealot (not a pure Jaegerist) right there ? Helena serves no great purpose in what is now an all out battle leading to all out war or the rumbling…either way she’s not much more than a psychopath Zeke got to be his absolute spy and now that is over she’s not important…more important is WHERE IS ANNIE!!!

Taizen

I always assumed it's because she sees through Armin's bullshit. Throughout the show, Armin has managed to come in clutch in different scenarios by lying to his enemies and tricking them (yelling that the Female titan crushed Eren in S1 to make her pause and keep her from killing Jean, telling Reiner and Berthold that they're abandoning Annie while she's being tortured in S2 which gives an opening for Erwin to cut Eren loose, etc). She sees that he's trying to garner her favor by appearing as if he's been converted to the Jeagerists, gives him that "don't you fucking dare try to pass one on me" look, but also recognizes that they actually are there to help Eren regardless of their reasons and allows them to go ahead.

Floch is wait for want I instore for 2022 and Yelena is nothing going as plan yet in 2022.

AyPeeElTee .

her face caught me so off guard and legitimately disturbed me. I seriously can't stand yelena and her poor terrible mission destroying attempts at impersonating a marley soldier. i think she hates armin purely because armin and eren were old besties. she's just bananas

Anonymous

it made my skin crawl, i immediately associated it with the japanese horror illustrations, disturbing .

togoodlooking

Pretty sure the face was meant as a threat like "you better mean what you are saying"

John Brooks

All I’m gonna say as a manga reader, is they nailed Yelena’s face to Armin and the scene of her admiring the exploding blimps. Iconic panels done beautifully in the anime.

Ethan Milligan

I saw something that I think makes sense as an explanation. Shes very suspicious at Armin's words, and if what he said is true, then it means that he's siding with them, but for the wrong reason
