***Suraj note***

Buffy was chosen to replace The Wire. The Wire was a show we watched because we wanted to choose something ourselves and not always go by the polls. Buffy is the next show in that slot. Parks and Rec will be replaced by another similar 30 minute sitcom show.

As per requested, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is next up on the docket!! We are so excited to begin this journey with you all. We've heard nothing but great things about this cult classic. Let us know what you think!

Daniel R

finally jumping into the Buffy reactions! super fun reliving the first episode with you guys! I can't wait til more join the couch!

Saitama

Oh my God, it's finally happening!!

Saitama

I also recommend Angel for full affect

Calvin Allen

It's about time. Also you should treat season one like Naruto and skip the fillers

Big Mike

Gtfoh… Buffy the vampire slayer! 1st the fat boys break up and now this… horrible replacement for parks and rec

Victor Fiegel

Great timing on starting a Joss Whedon show. 🙄 How is this the replacement for Parks and Rec!?

Sonicluis

How you guy pick this show is beyond me. I have no idea why there watching this when not that many people want it.

Chelsea
>>79077579

as a fan of both, I prefer Buffy and Angel to TVD or The Originals. Plus, there are like 20 storylines that TVD "borrowed" almost exactly from Buffy or Angel.

Chelsea

Yesssss finally! Thank you Normies! -High Queen

Selena
>>79076521

nah even the “fillers” have solid character beats. Just watch all of it and enjoy

Chelsea
>>79078357

It's not a replacement for parks and rec.. .this was recommended to them after The Wire (one of the reasons being that it is one of David Simon's favorite shows.)

Chelsea
>>79078815

It's not a replacement for parks and rec.. .this was recommended to them after The Wire (one of the reasons being that it is one of David Simon's favorite shows.) And it is the 25th anniversary, and it does well on Normies polls, and several other reasons.

DarthCaedus

Finally happening! So damn excited to relive this with you guys.

slipHAZARD

IMO this show has not aged well. I enjoyed it for what it was worth while it was on and yeah there are still a few good episodes but man, I feel like this is gonna be a chore to get through. In all honesty guys just skip the show. Again just IMO.

PercussionFellow

!?!?!?! Y'all are watching Buffy!? Holy shit! Let's fucking GOOOOOOOOO!!!!! LOVE YOU GUYS! 🥳

Ryan of New York

So happy you guys are finally reacting to Buffy! The first season is the weakest season IMO, but it's also the shortest and it's still fun. But it's the second season where the show really shines and starts earning it's place as one of the greatest TV shows of all time. You guys are going to love it :)

Big Mike
>>79078357

Well parks and rec ended last week, and Buffy starts today … just my opinion, but that sounds like a replacement

Dino Morte

Vampire Diaries 100x better lol who tried to cap

Joe Mags

It’s not anime, so already counts as a win

Malik

im just wondering who requested ? was there a poll or something, or just something they wanted to watch ?

PKKite

Yep gonna be skipping this one. So many people are watching it at the same time and I have no nostalgia or interest in this.

Blake

Let’s go this is so awesome

Blake
>>79077579

Vampire diaries literally stole all of there plot lines from Buffy and did them all worse.

Joel Sasmad
>>79079148

Way to be a downer and a douche. This show has a ton of fans and is a well known cult classic even if you personally have never been interested in it.

Chelsea
>>79078357

I understand, but I've known about this since November... so...

K Murray
>>79080797

This season aged poorly for sure. The rest was way ahead of its time and has aged remarkably well.

Micheal Hernandez
>>79083777

They said so in the post underneath the video. “We chose the wire because we wanted to watch it and now Buffy will replace that.”

Micheal Hernandez

Wild how many people are saying this is replacing Parks and Rec when it literally says in the description that it’s replacing the wire and a different show will be replacing Parks and rec. just say you don’t read the notes guys lol

Adam Vialpando
>>79079148

Yeah it's good but not really a show to react to. Most of the episodes are very 'Monster of the Week' and don't have any real connection between them. It's similar to why the dropped Batman TAS despite that being an amazing show. It's a great show to watch but not all of it is react worthy. And that's even more true for Buffy. There are very few episodes or moments where I go 'Man, I wish I can see their reaction to this'. GoT, Breaking Bad, Attack on Titan, Naruto, Mob Psycho 100, Death Note. These shows have that in abundance and make reactions to them fun to watch. Buffy just isn't as interesting.

Adam Vialpando
>>79079148

And before you bring it up I grew up watching this as well as shows like Charmed and I love them, so I am not biased against them.

Luna Meow

eeeeeeeeexcited to this. I'm sure you'll love to grow the scoobies

Adam Vialpando
>>79084175

I love Buffy but I do not wanna watch reactions to it. Nothing really react worthy in it imo.

Adam Vialpando
>>79079833

If you guys dropped Batman TAS because it was episodic then this will fare no better. Nothing really react worthy in it imo. And I grew up with and love this show.

Chris V

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! I've been voting for this evertyime it gets on the poll for damn near 4 years. So hapy they're finally reacting to this. Need Marketa on this tho, she'd love Buffy! Navi too!

Chris V
>>79077579

Nah, TVD is good at the start but it gets tiring with its constant and pointless drama, love triangles upon love triangles. And it also doens't have the HEART Buffy has.

Chris V
>>79079148

**NORMIES DONT READ THIS. POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW** If you grew up watching it. Then you must not remember it. Sure, there is a monster of the week type deal but that is only on the surface, what really makes Buffy great is the character development, the pain and hardships they overcome. The growth, sorrows and the different life themes it explores. It's funny you named Mob Psycho among the better shows to react to, when I think Mob is actually quite close to what Buffy is about, the only difference is the type of comedy there is in Mob as opposed to Buffy. Also, that Buffy may at times delve into darker themes than Mob. Buffy is an amazing show.

Chris V
>>79080797

Yea, Season 1 and possibly 4 was not that great. The rest? Timeless!

Sonicluis
>>79077579

The truth is most people will say Buffy is better because of nostalgic reason as they grew up more with it. But I think TVD is better. But I can also see why some people don’t like it. TVD is amazing and I think it has almost no flaws at the beginning but towards the second half after the originals story lines and they left and had nothing to do with the show, it did start to go down hill.

Dusty Glover

It's been a couple years since my last re-watch of this series so I'm ready for this journey through one of the greatest shows ever made. Ignore the haters and enjoy the ride.

Adam Vialpando
>>79079148

I just don't find it as timeless as others do. It was ok for the time but compared to many of the other shows the Normies have seen it is just not nearly as good.

Fred Rechid

Will you be also watching Angel when it’s time? If not, then you should to enjoy the full BuffyVerse!

Lipaz

OMG! Buffy! I'm soooo hyped:D

Ricardo Obregon

just wanted to say even though alot of people are watching this right now on stream or reactions.... it still woudn't beat the reactions of the Normies. im not watching to watch the show, im watching and joining in on the Normies watching and reacting and enjoying every painful and fun expeirence of this show. i will definitly be watching weekly. thank you guys so much for this choice, even if you guys give up halfway, still a fun ride.

Jackie Green

Oh this should be a fun reaction series! Maybe one day they can do Angel

Pro_Hero

Lets gooo also I hate those people but you should really watch the movie with Kristy Swanson it’s technically the prequel

Chaos T
>>79097352

Hasn't science proven that most people only read the headlines to get their news?

Chaos T

I like this show but skipping the reactions. The Joss Weadon stuff leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Bisibia

holy crap i cant believe this is actually happening, I was checking to see what would replace Parks and Rec... and didn't even consider this. I'm so happy right now. Edit: damn I just saw the new post and I'm a little sad. Seems more are interested than not tho.

Bisibia
>>79109304

I understand this sentiment... for me, I've gotta separate the art from the artist, or half the music in the world would disappear. We've all got to draw the line somewhere tho.

Andrew W

Holy shit, was NOT expecting this - the Joss stuff sucks, but Buffy was a big part of my nerdom growing up, so I don't think I'll ever completely turn my back on it. Just not going to do anything that sends any money to JW's pockets if I can avoid it. Damn this show is such a time capsule of the mid-to-late-90s, too.

PKKite
>>79111219

Uhhh that's not what the poll says. Actual math says 42% are highly upset to slightly upset (the BIGGEST PORTION) while 22% are meh/upset to maybe trying to watch. The other two options that are actually happy choices = 36% combined. No idea where your getting "more are interested than not"

Bisibia
>>79111219

Cautiously open minded sounded positive to me... But fair enough. If you split that one in half it's 47 to 53 against Buffy.

kdaW

PUMPED, I hope you guys watch Angel as well!

The Answer

Man I can't wait I am enraptured

Chaos T
>>79109304

I generally overlook artists politics and some off the set behavior however there's a line. Joss Weadon's actions in recent years gives a lot of validity to the horrible allegations on the Buffy/Angel set. I really like Buffy and Angel was amazing however Weadon is in Roman Polanski territory for me. I have a hard time viewing his work without real life issues surrounding him muddying what I'm viewing. That said I'm not going to criticize anyone for watching Buffy because of my personal hangups.

Chelsea
>>79109304

I get where you are coming from. I look at it differently though, the people who have come out against Whedon also have worked on those projects. Like Charisma Carpenter- whose main source of income still is royalties from Buffy. So its not just boycotting or not supporting Joss- its not supporting the people who spoke out against him as well. Not holding anything against you- we're all different and if you can't enjoy the show anymore, then it is what it is. I would say comparing Whedon to a Polanski is extreme. Whedon, while admitting to having affairs, has never been accused of any sexual misconduct, just of being an asshole, of which isn't illegal.

Chelsea
>>79079833

Buffy has a large part in revolutionizing television as we know it because it was one of the first shows (especially of its genre) that had serialized storytelling. It gets credited for that a lot... so I obviously strongly disagree with you.

Chelsea
>>79111219

Those numbers are actually pretty good to me, given that so many of Normies fanbase are pretty much only here for Naruto and other anime lol. I take it as a win.

Bisibia
>>79111219

Yea I agree Chelsea... Compared to the engagement of the other live action shows they do, this seems like it would do much better. Just look at the wire or parks and rec, and u can already see how many more people would be invested in this, just looking at the like and comment numbers per video. I assume if they did a poll like this for every show, the people voting 1-3 would always be the majority unless it's an anime, which is obviously the most popular type of show here atm. I wonder if they've ever had a live action show that got even close to half their patrons watching... I rly doubt it.

Kwame James

I'll give it a try never really watch it but if yall wanted a supernatural vibe lol you could have done supernatural ,vampire diaries, the original or something but it might be good to enjoy a first time watch with yall on a show I never wanted at all

nic

I know this has now replaced P&R Thursdays but I was still hoping for some P&R bloopers :"(

Luís

Nice, with the end of parks and the good place in the final streach there wasn't anything to hold me as a patron after that. Happy to follow you guys into this journey.

Pepperoni Pony .

This was the first TV show I bought all seasons of, and watched through the whole show at least five times. even the parts I didn't really like. Definitely worth a reaction.

raesh

yes! Buffy! i feel i am revisiting my teenage years!!

KaydenC

great reaction!

BetheSOUL

Thank you so much for reacting to this!

EJ Roldan

This pleases me 😁

Griff

Bro what…

BetheSOUL
>>79077579

Lol, no Sonicluis, people say Buffy is better because Academics with PhD's who've devoted years of their life to the exploration of storytelling, actual filmmakers who've made award-winning works, and at least three generations of devoted fans say that Buffy is better. YOU think TVD is better because you're unaware that it leans on other works of fiction, including True Blood, Supernatural, Twilight, Roswell and--wait for it--BUFFY. Over half of the cool things people liked about TVD, Buffy did it first.

Chelsea
>>79111219

Probably Game Of Thrones but that was what started the channel off, so it's an unfair comparison.

Chelsea
>>79077579

Yup, I'd bet even the creators and most writers of TVD would say that Buffy is better.

T W

I’ll be watching this!

Sou saetern

Wait... seriously? Have none of you actually watched this? I mean, yall can't be that much younger than me. I'm only 31 and I grew up watching this. Why yall making me feel old shit? Lol

Chelsea
>>79445766

They are all around your age (some of them older than you). I know- t's a travesty that they haven't watched it lol, it's iconic.

Amanda P

I'm excited for this! I wonder if you guys would ever react to Charmed (original) it would kinda go hand in hand with this, strong female leads of the 90s fighting demons 😁

Greta mudie

I left when you guys finished Dark, but now I'm back for the long haul I guess, cause buffy is a bit to get through lol can't wait to watch it all again with you guys. It is hands down my favourite show of all time, no competition at all! I hope you'll give it a proper go, the first season can be tough to get through. But it only gets better as it goes on. And if you're viewer ship is struggling in the first season, I'm sure it will pick up in the second. The buffy crowd will come! So excited :)

Sophia Connolly
>>79109040

It's not technically the prequal? It isn't even canon, at all. she was a junior in that and a sophomore in this.

Cory Garron

There are three shows that will make me a patron, The Wire and Buffy are two of them.

rickie woodson

guess who's back... back again...this is how you get my monies. 90s goodness! can't wait til season 3! so glad season 1 is a shorty

rickie woodson

should have watched the movie first since this takes place after it. you would so understand what they are referencing when she is talking to the principal. plus its just an awesomely fun film. maybe before watching season 2??????? pretty please with strawberries on top?

YB YB

Why can’t we see the show?
