In Ep. 2 Jango Fett (Bobas father) whos the progenitor of the clones, says he was hired be a man named Tyranus. ^^

So funny. I think it may have been Rana that wished for someone other than a Clone to die. RIP Master Piell lol

Fantastic discussion Normies!

The Republic does not have a droid army because the war took them by surprise when they were literally debating about the creation of an Army. Then they had the clones at hand so they just used them. Creating a battle droid army is also not that simple, and some of the best droid-creating factions (the Geonosians, the Trade Federation and the Techno Union) are sided with the Separatists, which is why they have such a wide variety of battle droids.

Also to answer Marketa's question: there is a term limit for the role of Supreme Chancellor (two terms of 4 years), but Palpatine was given emergency powers (proposed by Jar-Jar, no less) during Attack of the Cloens, when the Droid army was discovered and war was looming. He has been chancellor since.

Mathies

the fact that Palpatine ends up getting a hold of this information is how the seperatists just show up at Coruscant in episode 3.

9 weeks to go!

This war seems to be akin to a country building it's own military machines vs. Boeing, Lockheed Martin, etc on steroids. I imagine before the war the Separatists had the industrial might of whole planets with well established infrastructure building nothing but weapons and droids to the highest bidder.

Yeah, alot of these episodes are crucial for setting up events that occur later on.
