Amaya

Am I the only one that didn’t feel bad for Jules 😭

dom

euphoria day yes

Rey

Shenanigans ensue

Philbo

Tbh I think was right to go off on Jules and Elliot. They are her best friends and instead of even attempting to confront her about her problem, they immediately snitched.

Apri

I’m hearing conflicting responses, did Elliot know or not know about where Rue got the drugs? I remember her telling him the plan and him saying it was Genius

also aren’t both elliot and jules messing around behind rue’s back since her and jules are dating ? honestly i understand maybe they thought they were doing what’s best for rue. However considering what they’re doing behind rue’s back and everything. I don’t think it was there place to say or do anything especially elliot’s .

When it comes down to drugs and their life you're supposed to snitch but this time flushing that suitcase should have been avoided but Rue ain't communicating

MojoJojoGojo

Award winning episode this be

Philbo
>>94660368

Well not you aren’t supposed to snitch, considering how close they are to rue they should’ve atleast tried to confront her about the issue But instead they just went and told mom like hell lol no. And atleast TO ME the mom should’ve confronted rue about the suitcase instead of just immediately flushing them. Like i personally don’t think anyone was in the right in this situation besides rue when she T’d up on Elliot and Jules. Everything else no..

>>94660368

i agree. i just don’t really like the fact that they were the ones who told her mother instead of her mom finding out or someone else (anyone else tbh) telling her about rue.

Ophelia
>>94655073

Yeah, Rue was being terrible to her and she held very strong. Everyone in this episode was pretty strong against Rue.

Ophelia
>>94660368

If you call telling a teenager's mother that she daughter relapsed as "snitching", there is an issue.

Ophelia
>>94660368

They couldn't have confronted Rue. She is a TEENAGER. Go to her parents. That's the right thing to do.

Ophelia
>>94663356

He didn't. He knew of her idea, but she said told him that Fez didn't agree. He never knew she went to someone else for it.

Philbo
>>94660368

Lol I’m sorry back up, so because she is a teen. Confronting her is out the window? Lol like what.. that’s actually dumb I’m sorry lol she is grown enough to understand that she has a problem. No I never said them telling the mom in general is snitching. it’s only snitching because THEY never confronted rue about the issue. If they did and rue didn’t listen then sure go tell her mom. If you honestly don’t understand what I’m saying then that’s on you and that’s fine. Like Cassie’s mom calling rue’s mom is fine and that’s the right thing to do. But your BEST FRIEND not even talking to you first and just going over your head to your mom first, no that’s not right lol

Ophelia
>>94660368

Rue is far too gone to just confront her about it now. Maybe if it was a first time thing, but with her history with drugs and how far she was from reality, an adult was needed. That's pretty obvious. Also, Jules already had multiple conversations about drugs with her, all which Rue just lied to get Jules off her case. Like at the party, on the bridge, etc. That was Jules confronting her multiple times, but she was brushed off every time or lied to. Of course the right choice was going to her mother. You don't have to like Jules and Elliot, but it was definitely the right thing to do.

Flowerpower

this is the episode that earn Zendaya her second Emmy Win for best lead actress in a drama

Philbo
>>94660368

Never said I don’t like Jules or Elliot, I do like them. There conversations were not that deep. The time jules ever gave rue an actual ultimatum was beginning of the season 1. After that those were just short interactions if anything and Elliot has NEVERE stopped rue from doing anything. Just because it seems that she is too far gone doesn’t mean that you just give up and go through another source. That’s like saying if your best friend wanted to run away from home and they were determined to go so you just decided for yourself that you weren’t gonna try and stop them and instead went and told his parents. Like no lol that’s being a bad friend. Like idk about you. But your best friends are like your outlets. You tell them things you do not want to tell your parents. So for you to not even attempt to try and stop me from doing from whatever im doing and instead go straight to my mom lol honestly you are no best friend of mine. IF they weren’t all that close then sure whatever. Like if literally ANYONE else did this then I wouldn’t argue with rue being upset.

Ophelia
>>94660368

Maybe we are different ages or something. I think when I was younger I probably would have agreed with you. I kept many secrets for my friends, but as an adult, I realize I should have told someone. Honestly, even if it means losing a friend, if you are saving them, it's the right thing to do. Breaking trust hurts but saving someone by doing that is worth it. This may ruin their friendship, but it will save Rue's life.

Kurumi
>>94655073

nope cause rue spit straight facts on her lmaoo and its about time it came to light

Gershwin Alessandro Farao

Micky was spitting facts at the end..dope perspective my boi..the couch could've used with this point of view..

jojoey

Omg I love what everyone had to say abt this episode, this show really opened my eyes and see how addiction affects the person and the people around them, just something everyone should always think of cause it’s only getting worst, but really no solution.

V
>>94660368

yes you are supposed to snitch wtf..... she had a suitcase full of drugs and was never gonna pay that lady back, rue was getting into problems that were way too big for herself to handle, they did the right thing telling her mom... and they are all teens going through theyre own things.... they did the right thing.....and your whole "confront rue about it" they have multiple times and she is a child in this case...she needs help...

V
>>94660368

jules has tried to help rue to the point where she was rues addiction, they are kids..its scary plus jules mom is also an addict, plus they are kids, and im sorry but if you just found out your best friend got a suitcase full of drugs from some drug dealer i would tell their mom too, theres only so much they can do as kids...

Philbo
>>94660368

Me personally, I just view differently cause I’ve been in certain situations with my Best friends so yeah. Also none of them know where that suitcase came from

dom
>>94660368

did you not see when lexi confronted rue and didnt tell her mom then rue had an overdose

Firefx

I’ll preface this by saying: you all being angry and annoyed with Rue is fully justified. Almost every addict has alienated someone very close and that frustration from others is real. That being said, Ali wasn’t hyperbolizing when he said drugs make you into a different person. They rewire your brain to prioritize the drug over your basic needs. Your survival instincts exist increasingly for the drug and the drug alone. And on withdrawals, it is actual torture. No exaggeration in the slightest. And for someone like Rue who hasn’t been awake and sober for probably more than a few hours total in the last month plus…her body is tearing itself apart. Normal involuntary functions your body makes to accustom to stress, pain, panic, anything you can think of…every function has been going in overdrive or basically taking off for the last month because drugs were pushing those functions to their limit or compensating for them. During withdrawals, it’s a big ass sling shot where your body is freaking out cause it is only used to operating on the substance. Complete hell. And as to how long they can last, it really depends. Alcohol and opioids are typically the most grueling and often take about 3 to 6 days to recover from the biggest physical withdrawals. And that’s with medication/proper hospitalization. It can be much longer and deadlier without. Rue coming back from it is tricky but a big obstacle for a lot of people to staying clean is even believing they can. Really appreciate your reactions and thoughts.
