Wooooo! Another Milestone in the Buffyverse, finally meeting Faith, the title is such a very heavy handed tease... so glad you normies made it this far, very much am enjoying the ride, this seasons going to get crazy, but this episode is kinda up there... lol

Calvin Allen

Two fan favorites: Faith and Mr. Trick!

"She's over 18, right?" Eliza Dushku was 17 at the time this episode aired, which makes Joss Whedon's sexualization of the Faith character a bit creepy (although I guess it's not that surprising, given what we now know about Whedon)

Laura Luque

My fav season!! Every episode is great 🙌 loving these reactions guys!!! 🎉👏

He seemed to over hypersexualize Eliza a lot. Unfortunately, a lot of people have. The stuff she'd been theough in Hollywood, even all the way back when she played in True Lies when she was only like 12-ish when she played that role and what she revealed about what happened her. And considering the stuff his ex-wife said about him *shivers*...

In the interest of fairness, Eliza Duhsku has always spoken highly of Joss, that he treated her well and that she never had any issues with him. She's not one to bite her tongue on these issues either, given the men in the industry she's previously called out for gross behavior.

Not Canadian; Bostonian! ;p Missed Marketa but great reaction

It's too bad that Whedon is such a POS, because his creative talent is incredible. I really admire Dushku for both surviving and thriving after her sexual molestation during the True Lies production. Joel Kramer should have been arrested; in fact any 36 year-old man who molests a 12 year-old girl should be thrown *under* the jail

Oh hai season 3. Enter Faith, owning the sh!t out of everything.

Tim Pierce

I spent about fifteen seconds at the end thinking they were all quietly looking at their phones.

What prompted the super-short intro? Time constraints or trying new things to see how the engagement numbers play out? EDIT: Derp, explained during credits - this is what happens when I leave the comment box open while also watching.

LOVE THIS EP! the title, faith, some COLOR added to cast. also, finally, the mayor! ok no mayor but we got angel back at the end. guess its next ep that the mayor comes in

Do the fandom a favor and get the Buffy lore correct. The supernatural exists all over the world. There is an entire organization of Watchers it’s called the Watchers council.

Ana Vazquez

Eliza Dushku was in Bring it On a classic in the good bad movie genre

rickie woodson

guess its a good thing they didnt recognize eliza right away. otherwise it would be "hey eliza dushku is a background extra. wait no. she's too big for that. must be this faith in the title"

rickie woodson

scott's not dumb. you're just unromantic. that was super sweet. something i would do

rickie woodson

Trick gives me Hollywood vibes from "mannequin" not as fabulous but still awesome and full of swagger

Ash

Faith is younger then Buffy. And so the stuff she says is supposed to make you uncomfortable lol

The ring is not even close to romantic though. It's weird to get someone, you haven't even gone on the first date with, jewelry.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQ80xcsrEGQ Eliza praising Joss as one of her best friends and best people she'd ever worked with for like 5 minutes. Of course, she could have been lying because he was her boss, but.... like... thats excessive and unnecessary amount of praise, more than what is required by an employee. Also, lets not forget, while she came out in support of Charisma, she also never (from what I remember) said anything negative about Joss. So I wouldn't necessarily put her in the same camp with the rest of the people he was an asshole to. Plenty of people who had good working relationships with him (The Firefly crew loved working with him for example)--- that obviously doesn't diminish that he was an obvious asshole to other people, though, I just don't think he mistreated Eliza. Of course, you could argue that she was groomed or something and didn't know any better, but she was 17, not 10....

I never claimed that Whedon "mistreated" Dushku; I was only pointing out that it was kind of creepy for him to hypersexualize a character who was being portrayed by an underaged actress. I know that there are plenty of women who had a good working relationship with him, but that in no way changes the fact that Whedon is a complete POS

Which is why most teenagers are actually played by 18+ adults and its difficult for actual teenagers to get roles.

Also makes me think that Thirteen probably couldn't have been made today (Nikki Reed wrote it when she was thirteen and starred it in while she was still a minor but it was autobiographical about her own experience with sex, drugs, shoplifting, etc).

Totally agree Chelsea, although at least the story in Thirteen was more in service of social commentary than just sheer entertainment. There's a good reason that 25 year olds are cast as high schoolers in teen sex comedies, because it'd be creepy af otherwise. But since we're on the subject, we have to mention Alyson Hannigan's hilarious performance as a high school band nerd in American Pie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-ftdcWqhUs

Alright now!! A REAL slayer has entered the chat!! Buffy can pack it on up lol

rickie woodson

im not watching this for a third time.........next week will be homecoming and the week after that, my second most anticipated ep of the season. mmy most anticipated? witchy willow........such a great birthday month

rickie woodson

pay attention to the opening credits going forward. dont know if this is the first season to do this or not but as big supporting characters join the show, they add them to the opening. even in this one, faith and trick both get one clip (blink and you'll miss it) in the opening. im just itching for the major to FINALLY pop up. i think he will be a love him or hate him type of character like the principal
