I’m glad you guys noticed that there’s a different Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher every year 😂 There’s actually non-spoiler lore on that: Voldemort sought the position and the headmaster at the time (I can’t remember his name) refused him because he had visibly changed so grotesquely from the last time he saw him and could tell that he was up to no good. So, Voldemort cursed the position to where No teacher will keep it for more than one year for varying reasons 😉

One thing interesting to know is how Sirius succeeded in escaping Azkaban and fool the Dementors : People who are imprisoned in Azkaban ends up getting mad because the Dementors keep sucking their souls. Sirius, being an Animagus, spend 12 years switching between his human form and his dog form. In his dog form, Dementors don't feel him and ignores him, that's how he was able to keep his sanity AND escape ultimately.

I always thought Dumbledore was so powerful that he was kinda like a Jedi and could sense other people or their magic. Like when he appeared to see Harry through the Invisibility Cloak in Hagrid's cabin in the previous movie. So he knew the trio were there as he was approaching the cabin with Fudge, and then stalled to give them a chance to get away.

a potter movie with them the big V man? GASP. this was my favorite of the series for til the 5th one. i've seen it the most of all the films. the title, sirrius, the time travel, the tone and cinematography all just worked for me

She mentioned information revealed later in the series (specifically about why he has to stay with the Dursleys)that we don't know at this time, its not a huge spoiler but its definitely not something we know at this time that's why when I talk about stuff I've seen before to others who haven't I'm careful to make sure if I'm not positive to not even mention it

This shouldve been one of my favorite films in the series but I honestly didn't care for the new director and RH I thought was a better Dumbledore but the main thing I was looking forward was completely skipped over I wanted to see Gryffindor finally win the Quidditch cup in that epic final against Slytherin that normally wouldn't happen because they always play each other first

It's a religious thing. God parents come from the idea of a child being assigned a second set of "religious guide" parents during their baptism into the faith. The godparents are meant to oversee that the children are raised properly in the faith. Overtime, though, the concept became more of a backup-parent kind of thing, as was adopted by people outside of the church, because, frankly, that's a good idea.

"Godparent" is a religious thing that evolved into a general family role but has no legal bearing on anything. In early Christianity, a "Godparent" was someone who sponsored another individual who wanted to join the Catholic church and they acted in a mentor role. The role eventually evolved into a baptism and family role, which GoldArthur does a great job of explaining. At least in the United States, the "Godparent" has no legal rights and aren't considered a legal guardian. Legal guardian status is determined by the courts.
