Great reaction guys! I find it funny that Pat said one of the Brothers turns into Voldemort because fun fact: Voldemort is a descendant of that specific brother, and Harry is a descendant of the brother that had the invisibility cloak.

Jakari24

And since the movie doesn’t just come out and tell you, Remus (Lupin) and Tonks are expecting a child; Tonks is pregnant.

Jakari24

The reason Dittany worked on Ron’s arm but couldn’t be used on the ear of one of the Twins is because said Twin was hit with a curse; A curse can’t be healed with any form of magic, which needles to say, includes magic potions.

Don’t tell them what the movie didn’t, it’s the fault of JK and the writers the failed the last 3 movies. They are NOTHING compared to the books

…. Okkkk? Lol. Respectfully, Dismissing your obvious bias, I’ll tell them whatever information is needed to further understand what’s going on. You all seriously need to get over your Book vs. Movie BS; I never understood it. If you think they’re gonna be able to put EVERYTHING that went on in the books in the movies, then respectfully, you’re a fool and quite literally played yourself. 💙

normies weekend. after this going to binge buffy season 5 reactions

rickie woodson

i always mix up the dormentors names with the deathly hallows. like, i never remember they are called dormentors. whenever i see them i go "DEATHLY HALLOWS! RUN!"

Unstablebeast

They keep saying "Cant you use magic for that?" Magic in harry potter is pretty limited honestly, especially when talking about just wand spells.

Jeff K

I've always appreciated how Bill Weasley is the one who says, "Mad-Eye's dead" given that Domhnall Gleeson is, of course, Brendan Gleeson's actual son. Also: Kreacher listens to Harry because Sirius left the house (and all of his possessions) to Harry. Kreacher comes with the house, so, Harry became his "master" once the house became Harry's.

rickie woodson

just because you are family doesnt mean you want to take in someone else's kid. i know my mom's family is like that. all they care about is money and that is the first thing they will bring up "if i take him in who's going to pay for him". OFF TO THE ORPHANAGE! good thing god parents exist

Which tells us Harry and Voldemort are actually related, like distant cousins, the movies didn't mention it but I think it's pretty interesting to know.

King Abydos

In setting Half Blood means any witch or wizard that cant trace back both sides of their family generations back without finding any muggles. If someone has one muggle parent, or grand parents, or anything like that it makes all of them half bloods. its very "one drop rule"

King Abydos

Also if it wasnt clear the Death Eaters and Voldemorts regime is very Nazi germany coded. Lots of people can be can be conviced to do horrible things with the right propoganda. Trying to root out people with the wrong blood and dehumanizing them, it might as well be putting someone on trial for being non aryan.

Jeff K

Yep, right down to Voldemort being a parallel to Adolf in the whole "half blood" thing. Hitler's actual genealogy is pretty unclear, but there's been a lot of belief (even if it's pretty much impossible to prove at this point since some of his ancestors are unknown) that he's part Jewish. I dunno if JK had that in her head when she wrote the books, but it feels a little too on the nose (or, lack of nose I guess) to be a coincidence.

BrothaReuben

Does Spidey not get enough sleep at home lol. Swear my guy is always dozing off

Chance

Snatchers and Deatheaters are tracking people who speak of "Voldemort" and "He Whom Must Not Be Named"

Arctic_stark

Great reaction guys, these HP movie reactions have been some of the very best. One thing to point out about the relations between the different pureblood families, basically everyone is related to everyone. The wizarding community is a very small one. Sirius lays out all the different relationships in book 5, the Weasleys, Blacks, Lestranges, Potters etc. are all basically cousins of varying degrees.

Na, it's just that Harry isn't very knowledgeable. I think in Book 3 itself Hermione does the Impervious charm to keep Harry's glasses dry by repelling water during a rainy Quidditch game. Harry just hasn't been a good student lol.

Macs

its never explained where james got the cloak right? been forever since I read it

Macs

hagrids actor is 6'10, just looked it up in the films they go for 8ft with camera ticks and cgi etc

Jeff K
>>124726675

Robbie Coltrane (RIP) was only 6-1, but yes, his stand in was 6-10 in order to make him look that much larger in scenes with Harry.

Crow's Nest
>>124681838

I mean there is a spell for making more ice like spidey suggested as well as spells to keep water away or keep warm.

Unstablebeast
>>124681838

I do not know of any spell that would keep you dry or warm when completely submerged in water

Crow's Nest
>>124681838

There is two spells that exist solely to repel things, one for liquid and one for general objects but they can also vanish it which is a thing we see them do in the series as well as control and move large bodies of water.

Unstablebeast
>>124681838

I've seen them move like, buckets full, but never a whole lake, except like, ancient magic in hogwarts legacy

CWall
>>124726535

Yes it’s explained. James Potter got the cloak from his father Fleamont Potter. To elaborate on the answer, he inherited it as a family heirloom dating back to Hardwin Potter, who married Iolanthe Peverell, granddaughter of the Cloak's original owner Ignotus. It was passed down to the eldest male of each new generation of Potters since then. James's parents were elderly and died around the time of his marriage, thus explaining why James inherited the Cloak as a fairly young man.

CWall
>>124726535

That’s not true. James received the cloak from his father as an heirloom of the Peverell family.

CWall

Have you guys ever considered doing a read along segment for the Harry Potter books?

Bill was attacked by Fenir Greyback in his human form so he has wolfish behavior but isn’t a full werewolf. Fleur met Bill when they worked at Gringotts bank together.

Donald Armstrong IV

So in the book, Goblet of fire there is a Family visit with the champions after the second task, and the Weasleys come instead of the Dursleys. Arthur is stuck at work so Bill and Mrs. Weasley are there as Harry’s family. Charlie was stuck transporting the dragons back. And Fleur became infatuated with Bill after seeing him
