Hell yeah. Neville Longbottom's time to shine.

Felix Döring

Hopefully you guys watch the 20th anniversary next week. It was really fun. Even for me who watched the movies just half a year before the anniversary.

V

Fun fact on why Neville was a hidden point in the Harry Potter series--when the prophecy about the child that would eventually grow up to defeat Voldemort was made, there were TWO boys that were actually born in the month of July: one was Harry, and the other was Neville. THat's why Bellatrix and co. were sent to torture the Longbottoms. Harry on the other end drew the shorter end of the stick because his parents, James and Lily were more powerful wizards n also more publically against Voldemort, so Voldemort saw them and their child as a bigger threat than Neville. That's why Harry ended up becoming the child of prophecy, because Voldemort CHOSE that night to kill his parents, he ended up causing the self fulfilling prophecy to be true and marked Harry as the person to defeat him publically. But it was always supposed to be both Neville and Harry, because both were born in the month of prophecy--in contrast to Harry who was always confident in being in Gryffindor, Neville always felt that he wasn't fit for Gryffindor, and dealt with a lot of issues with regards to whether or not he was either magically talented enough / powerful enough or if the sorting hat put him in the wrong house. Remember that in the second movie Dumbledore explains that the sword from inside the sorting hat is the Sword of Gryffindor, and can only be drawn from the hat by a true Gryffindor? As much as this whole movie was Harry's arc, it was also Neville's, as another child of the prophecy that wasn't chosen--him drawing the sword from the hat confirmed that he's truly a Gryffindor at heart, and indirectly also fulfilled the prophecy that a child born of July would defeat Voldemort, because both Harry and him ended up being important catalysts leading to Voldemort's defeat. Without Harry willingly sacrificing himself, Voldemort's last, unintentional horcrux would still be alive in Harry, and he wouldn't have died no matter what, and without Neville drawing the sword from the hat, Nagini would not be dead, and Voldemort would not be defeated completely.

V

JSP is actually James Sirius Potter, while ASP is Albus Severus Potter! So its a tribute to the two impt pple in Harry's lives that were so significant, Sirius, who gave him hope in the hellhole as his family, and Severus, who sacrificed so much out of his love for Lily

V

Basically the idea of a Horcrux (usually a Horcrux is an inanimate object, Voldemort is recorded as the first to have actually put it on a living soul, Nagini) is that as long as the item stays intact, the soul stays intact as well. THe Horcruxes are also charmed HEAVILY with curses and protection magics (which was why Nagini was pretty much always with Voldemort. She was also a huge ass python that had deadly venom and a body large enough to swallow a human whole, so there's quite little that can physically injure her to the point of death). It is still a pretty big loophole in Harry Potter universes in terms of magic lol but a little uh spoiler--Nagini is not a regular snake as well, which leads to quite a lot of pple to guess why Voldemort made her into a Horcrux, because Nagini's lifespan in incredibly / extremely long as compared to many others. (This is related to Fantastic Beasts, you'll understand more of it when you see the movies)

Neville deserved more in the movies. Hopefully the series is bettér.

Yeeaa Rana, Hufflepuff! PuffPride! 💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤

Manic Schizophrenic

This was the series that took me from "books are for nerds" to "books are the superior storytelling method" in my childhood. It's been a blast seeing your reaction videos and I hope it sparks enough interest for at least an audiobook listen (for the ones who haven't already read them) Edit: I'm 30 mins into the watchalong right now and I've been giggling watching Spidey fight to keep his eyes open for the last 10 minutes, then, Aberforth shouts "Your lying..." and he immediately changes position and wakes up enough for the Neville reveal. 🤣🤣I'm laughing so hard I had to pause and wipe my tears away. He's been so enjoyable through all the other movies I can't even be disappointed that he was sleepy for this one (so far)

Angel Groves

"We never left." I'm not crying, you're crying. LOVED seeing you four watch these movies. It made me want to re-read the books (which I used to do often, but its been years). Thanks, for this, guys.

Livia Chapman

Can you guys also react to the 20? anniversary of harry potter to

Angel Groves

BTW, it's pretty cool each of you ended up in a different house. 💙🤍💛❤️💚🖤💛🖤

Queef Burglar

This is my favorite movies of the franchise, I've seen it over a dozens times.

Chaos T

This was a really fun reaction series. Thank you!

Arctic_stark

This reaction series is one of the best you all have done, it's a great couch. Can't wait for the Tarantino movie reactions, I hope you plan to cover all of it!

J. J.

Pat's right, fantastic beast is trash

Keira Raftery

You should honestly react to the musicals next 😂 forget fantastic beasts!

Prime Rebel

I like that you are ALL different houses! great couch for harry potter watched through. Looking forward to watching this reaction!

rickie woodson

even though i dont ship them, these ships are perfect cause they make everyone family. via ginny, harry is ron's brother and hermione's brother in law. their sibling like friendship is solidified!

t mac

When Goyles wand is spitting out fire and it won't stop then pat screams out "blow on it" AHAHAHAHAHA I DIED.

J. J.

Did they really forget about Sirius when talking about Harry's kids... jSp lmao

rickie woodson

thanks again for the reactions. great walk down memory lane. welcome to the potter clan spidey and pat! get those houses quizzes down so we can make it official ficial

@eric.na.goo.yen

You guys should watch “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. No need to watch the second and third ones. But the first one is great!

TrixieTurner

When I first started reading Harry Potter I’d never thought I’d end up loving snape and disliking the marauders and Harry’s parents.

A. Saffari

It aint over! you still got fantastic beasts to watch!

Chris Hauser

When talking about people who got together, Luna and Neville did not get together, we don’t know who Neville got with, but we know that Luna got with the grandson of newt scamander who was in the fantastic beast movies.

Rishi Shukla

Haha come on guys, why would both of their middle names be Severus! James' middle name is Sirius.

Agreed. The first one was tolerable, but overall, they're to the HP series what the Hobbit trilogy is to the LOTR series. Fine, competently made, but overall meh.

Brandon Self

Please do fantastic beats. Personally loved the first two. Third one had issues but that was mainly because of a certain casting debacle.

FedeM

What a nice Christmas treat! thanks, you guys

Johnny Blue

Can we get a reminder on which movie franchise you're tackling next? The movie polls were so long ago that I don't remember what comes next.

Chris K.

movie: starts Spidey: 🥱😴🛏😌zzZ

Mr. Big Stuff

Harry Potter series is always a good choice... Would love to see some classic movies... Just one and done types

xBAYBANDITx

It would’ve been nice to see the guys react to Tom Riddles mom; Merope Gaunt’s back story from the book and how he even ended up in the orphanage. Also how Tom got the first two horcuxes 😱

blendedmusic

Thanks for the Harry Potter reactions! It was super fun to watch and the holiday timing really works for these movies. Watching Spidey and Pat getting introduced to this fandom was very cool.
