I have completely given up on trying to understand how what is chosen is chosen. I am so far removed from so many of these choices.

It can get frustrating for sure, sometimes people talk about a show or movie that almost all want to watch, then when the vote comes, its not picked or doesn't win...Just gotta lobby for what you want and hope for the best. If your choice doesn't get picked, try again next time.

There's barely any buzz around Shutter Island anymore because it's been out forever. PHM is the one we should jump on before Tom accidentally learns the entire plot from the internet. 😂

Really?? I thought Shutter Island was great, but not something I have ever re watched, but PHM I have watched 4 times already, and would for a 5th only i want to avoid over doing it, incase it wins lol.

My reasons are entirely personal lol, in the sense that my dislike stems from 'me issues', versus it being me disliking the film because it didn't suit my tastes due to the story or screenplay or acting, or whatever, etc. I'll be vague because of spoilers, but the main reason I dislike Shutter Island is because I guessed the whole movie's story really early into the movie, and the reason(s) why I guessed it so early would be the spoiler. I was watching this with friends who'd seen it before, and I made a nonchalant semiserious prediction that was also a rhetorical question. Which my friend's knew I wasn't actually asking a question, but I could tell by their reaction that I was right because their poker faces sucked so bad that even my Autistic brain caught on to the facial expressions lol. I still watched the rest of the movie, I found it disappointing that I didn't get to experience the film in the way the directors wanted their viewers to experience it, purely due to how my brain picks up on certain patterns. As for Project Hail Mary, for whatever reason I have a really hard time retaining attention on Project Hail Mary while watching. I'm sure it's a very good film, but for the life of me I can never recall anything about the film as a result. Unfortunately there are several movies I struggle to maintain focus on, even if I find the story in and of itself engaging/entertaining, because for whatever reason I either can't maintain focus or retain any info from the scenes I did watch. AuDHD really sucks sometimes.

I agree with many comments. Pretty uninspiring choices considering Tom has seen very few movies.
