I'M NOT READY FOR THIS AFTER I FINISH EPISODE 7 😭

Warius

Luke Fitton

The Tank was no match for Daryl Dixon. Daryl killing Mitch seemed fitting considering The Governor killed both of their brothers.

ammogreed

That was so intense and heartbreaking

Vamwolf 77

Gotta watch out for those mid-season finales....

Narth_Vader

The last shot of the prison with Rick telling Carl to keep walking is the same shot from the first episode of season 3 when Rick and Daryl find the prison. Also the walker that we zoom in on after Lily shoots the Governor is the woman that Rick finds in the first episode of this season. Probably my favorite episode of the entire series. The themes, cinematography and pacing are perfect.

Korivex

It was great that Herschel got to hear Rick say that 'we can all change, we get to come back'.... that is the message that Herschel has been trying to get through to Rick all season. I'm so glad he got to hear it, that is why he was smiling. It was cool that they closed in on that walker who was the woman that Rick met in the woods that stabbed herself.

Sherry Bandito

Great episode and reaction.. R.I.P. hershel

Ashley Wise

Tom: This is as bad as it can get Me: Oh my sweet summer child winter is coming 🥺😔 You're in for a rough ride but its worth it❤️

Angelica Albanese

Hershel's death is always a gut-punch. He was so proud of Rick in that moment, because it truly was a wonderful speech and I think Rick was being 100% honest with this olive branch being offered. Philip ruined a really good defensive location all over ego, really what Rick's group needed to do was spend some much needed time reenforcing the fences and covering them with some sort of visual barrier so that walkers couldn't see in, this way Walkers wouldn't see everyone farming and what not outside in the prison yard, that would've addressed some of the flaws in their outer defensive walls. I hate the Governor as a character so much. He ruins so much and kills one of the greatest men that was still living in the apocalypse, and his snake-oil salesman act was slimy and tiring. I wish that the writers had given Maggie the chance to kill him, but at least it was Michonne and Lily in her place.

Malachi Pritchard

The governor is such a psychopath with no redeeming qualities

Andrew R

Andrew Lincoln's acting is so phenomenal! From this point on is my favorite stretch of TWD (especially seasons 8-11)

David Guerrero

Andrew Lincoln speech always gets to me. Someone said it here before he should have gotten a lot more recognition.

Gracie's Revenge

*Hugs* Tom! This is a rough one. It absolutely infuriated the Gov that Rick was being so cordial, so reasonable, and even welcoming the Gov's ppl into the prison group. Rick stating that after they fought him before, they took the Gov's abandoned townspeople in and allowed them to live, and even become leaders in the prison..it made 'Brian' look bad, like a liar. But only Tara could see that Brian wasn't really being truthful about what he'd told them about the Prison group. The Gov ruined it for everyone, and also got his whole new group all killed. But thank god he's FINALLY gone. We should've been able to build up the prison more and have a safe, beautiful home there for many many years to come. Sad. And at the end, to top it off seeing Judith is gone, that hurts. (They only show her baby carrier all bloody because its plain to see what likely happened, there are walkers everywhere and the show just wouldn't get away with showing her actually get eaten, so they left it that way to show her gone.) Tom, you know you shouldn't watch this show BEFORE work! But honestly we are getting into my favorite stretch of the whole series. This was the Season 4 midseason finale, and season 4B (last half of season 4) all the way through the end of season 6B is just top-tier.

Stephen L

I have seen this show many times and I have NEVER until now put two and two together. The last episode…the people with the heads cut off and the sign that said LIAR…wow. That’s insane.

Reaction Therapy

Good points and I do wonder what kept them from doing what you said…to cover the fences👍

james AARON smith

They didn't hear the governor sneak up because it's pretty loud burning bodies (or so I would assume lol)

Johnathan

R.i.p Hershel 😭

Josh Evans

EXACTLY what I was thinking. It’s going to be a rough watch , but it’s Sooooooo worth it !

Kadi

There are some extremely bitter cold winters ahead, but some sweet too. Tom, pull out your emotional winter coat and scarf and hat.😔

Jesse James

Then he met Rick's family...

Jesse James

One of the most emotionally intense episodes in the entire show, I'd say.

Skyler

RIP to Hershel, he is a character no one forgets, especially with such an unfair death! I saw this live at 13 years old, vividly remember sitting on my sisters couch in tears! It has been a whole THIRTEEN years & it feels like it just aired yesterday. I am so happy you get to experince TWD Tom, it is such an amazing ride to go on even if it can casue some emotional turmoil lol. BUT I feel bad for everyone who missed out on watching it week by week with anticipation, waiting longggg months until October comes back. Back in the day, millions of fans had to wait two months for the second half to see what happens with our group who is now split, such an awesome TV experience! Much love Tom!

Viktor

Gosh i love this show

Harley

What an episode... Guess I was wrong about the governor being the one feeding rats to the walkers as a proxy attack on the prison, not that it really matters now that both groups are devastated and Ricks group being split up and abandoning the prison. Also, RIP Hershel, one of my favourites.

Lab

I really liked Hershel.

GingerBread

I feel like rick's canary has just died. without Herschel as angel on Rick's shoulder how will be able to stop himself now? I am watching this for the first time with you so I worry for rick a lot...

Reaction Therapy

That’s so true! What do you do without your mentor and advisor?😳

Stash Barber

you're absolutely right about the fire. even garbage anything other than sticks and limbs still make crackle sounds like twigs snapping combined with a low rumble...

Krystal Santiago

Tom! You should have a box of tissues watching the walking dead on hand for every episode so no one tells you which episode to get tissues and doesn’t ruin the terrible surprise!

courtney 🧚🏽‍♀️

this episode devastated me. when i tell you i was crying like i lost a family member 😭 this was the first time i took a break from this show. i just couldn't do it. hershel deserved SO much better. what happened to him is so messed up.

Driver ED

One reason Michonne and Herschel were taken by the Governor so easily was because everyone in Rick's group are still exhausted from dealing with the pig virus just a few hours earlier. Also... The woman walker with long black hair shown walking towards the prison at the end was the same woman that tried to kill Rick in the forest several episodes earlier.

Kai

Tom you always make me laugh so hard when you say people in the show are going to die or "it's all over" 🤣🤣🤣. Tom will just start saying everyone is cooked.

Demceez

Outstanding actor, considering he is British and did a flawless southern American accent the entire show.. Here in UK its actually a pretty hard accent to do

Demceez

Toms intro dance 🤣 always makes me chuckle.

Saltnlight

I remember watching this. I had to take a break for a few weeks after this . Hershel's death hit me hard. I still have to look away till this day when I watch it again.

Ty Hamilton

The Governor was and always was a terrible leader. Ruled by narcissistic manipulation and could never let go of his needless bloodlust for vengeance. It’s what got Woodbury killed and it’s ultimately what got him and this 2nd group of sheep killed.

Heather

"this is as bad as it can get" I've said it once, I'll say it again: honey, you've got a big storm comin 🙏🏻🫠 some peak quotes from this episode: "there are children here, some of them are sick, they wont survive" and the response being "I have a tank" 😭WE CAN OLIVE TOGETHURRR 🗣️ CORRRAAAALLLLL 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️ Carl-Headshot-Grimes I know that is RIGHT! 😤 congratulations on making it to the end of another era; you've seen the farm era come and go, now the prison era 😪 RIP HERSHEL THE GOAT WHY CANT OLD MEN SURVIVE IN THIS MF FIRST DALE NOW HERSHEL PLEEASSSEEE 🙏🏻😭 the best moment of this entire episode gas GOT to be Daryl dropping a grenade into that tank so casually, man is a UTILISER! your voice sounded so broken when you pointed out that Glenn doesn't even know about Hershel, broke my heart ☹️🩷 "take his head! take his head!" oh the THINGS this show will make you wish on others, just you WAIT 😭🤣

Edward

Hey Tom, before you start, you should mention the episode name first. Just saying

Sussie

rip Hershel 😭💔

Anthony

Yall idk if I can watch this episode again i’m getting chills left and right. The Governor doing that right in front of Maggie and Beth really did me in. Good god this show is brutal.

CampEvolution

RIP Hershel and RIP Scott Wilson (his actor) who passed away in 2018. Such a beautifully executed performance in this show and a devastating loss both in TWD universe and real life. 🙏

SixFeetUnderKai

Hershel was a real one. I knew this one would be rough.

Dee D

Exactly. I almost feel bad for Tom!

Dee D

Right! This was the first time I caught that after all the times I've watched this!

Dee D

RIP Hershel Green RIP Scott Wilson

Rina Meyers

My beloved Hershel! I ran to his booth 1st at Walker Stalker Con!!!

Chris

The last of the joy from this show
