I never get tired of seeing Aidan & Nicholas get humbled by Glenn & Daryl. I think Rick was a little bit concerned when he first spotted Carl outside the walls but I think that part of him is glad that Carl doesn’t want to constantly hide behind those walls and that he will stay strong.

Fender Fox

Omg Carol trying to get that giant rifle off 🤣 and she smiles after putting it on the cart

Love this episode! Such 180 flip from what we are used to! Thanks for your posts Tom, great birthday gift today !!

Yesits a real community! It’s not in Virginia like the show but south of Atlanta Georgia in Sonia Ga. It’s very close to where they filmed Woodbury. It’s a cool tour ..lots of things near by, like some houses we saw while they were on the road. The house rick and Carl was in when michonne found them. The pudding house. Plus more stuff I cant mention lol

I was in emdr therapy for almost 5 years and it really helped me. I respect the practice you do Tom. Some of my main trauma was from growing up and having friends pick on me in a friendly way but to me it wasn't friendly and I held onto those feelings my whole life. They would embarrass me about something and I if Iwas ever in another situation like that later I would always freeze up and not want to be in the situation. Another thing was every single girlfriend cheated on me so every scenario with other girlfriends would always keep me on guard thinking it was gonna happen every time, even if i trusted them I still couldn't get past certain scenarios around other men, when drinking was involved, if they ever went to stay the night somewhere Iwould always be freaking out. My mom was in a severe car accident hit by a drunk driver on her 7 th dui when I was 17 , my mom was given so many pain meds that she ended up being an addict after a few years and my family didn't understand that so she disappeared for almost 10 years. Years later I was prescribed pain meds and it took me almost 15 years to get out from under being an addict myself, I've learned so much about life and the things we keep ourselves prisoners from when we go thru these traumas. Even though I'm not activity doing emdr therapy anymore I still use the structures from it, if something is holding me back mentally I stop and remind myself to forgive the bad memory and that it most likely won't happen again and to live life without fear of the repeating situations. I have a million other things I've had to work thru in therapy and on my own and I've finally got to a point that i can navigate life myself, with a ton of help from my wife, This is why my wife and I are nomads and we travel from WI to AZ every winter. Being in a apartment is very hard because we've had too many neighbors who also give us trauma with the way things have happened over the years. We are at our best when we are in the warm weather and glamping and bringing friends and family in on our time, not being held under anyone's thumb. I get to perform my music at a few places in AZ and anywhere on the road. I was even gonna try to do a few songs at the edge of the grand canyon but they said i would need a permit, i might still try to do it when we go back in a few weeks 😄 I know some people won't understand this but it works best for us and I'm glad we finally found a safe routine that makes us happy and feel and be safe. We always have everything we need, we are actually looking for land in Northern AZ so we can build our own home and settle. Anyways ,I love watching your reactions Tom 😊

Not to mention that wtf? look Rick gives her

It makes sense that at least some people in our group may have a hard time adjusting to a more 'civilized' way of living again. It's so foreign to them at this point. And yes, the biggest 'catch' of Alexandria is that they are weak. They have just gone about life inside the walls, very few of them ever going out. They don't know about ANY of the struggles other ppl who have 'lived out there' and how to handle things; most of them probably have never even held a gun. So it'll be interesting to see how Deanna and her community help our group, which at this point compared to Alexandria are damn near feral wild people lol, adjust. But also, the Alexandrians will also need to adjust and take on the info and advice our group gives them. Together, it could be an amazingly strong community. Which they need because you know it won't stay peaceful forever. It's only been so good, so quiet, and so abundant with food/resources because of what Deanna said (that the whole of North Virginia was effectively evacuated, so the millions of ppl there were moved out so when the ppl at Alexandria got sent to that community to wait for rescue, that housing plan was immensely secure and with supplies and amenities like solar power, water filtering, etc. Aside from the wall, which Deanna's husband built. But for hundreds and hundreds of miles there's been almost no people, almost no walkers, and a whole region of supplies in stores, houses, etc untouched so Alexandria has just been living the very good life this whole time. I can see how maybe people from the outside might judge them, or have a low level of patience with them because Alexandria does just feel like a different world, it is almost like 'before'. And I think Rick is just at his most protective, hardened state and it's easy to see why. Carol is on guard too, and poor Daryl just feels so out of place in a community like that. Before the fall, he'd never seen houses or places like that. Also, Rick being a 'cop again' may've been hard for him to see or something because before the apocalypse, Daryl and Rick would've been on different sides of the fence, with Daryl being law-breaking with Merle and Rick looking down on and arresting guys like them. Rick only has respect for Daryl now though, I hope Daryl sees that.

Fender Fox

Funny I haven't seen the preacher either??? The one with the church and he was on that rock that they saved him from, I can't remember his name but I haven't seen him either 😆

Eileen

YOU! You just stepped through the firewall around my heart. Not many people can do that. Exceptional, matey. May all good things come find you. Love from England.

Fender Fox

Awe thank you!! May i ask what you mean by that? If not it's OK, thank you 🥹

Derell Grant

Damm, is that really Rick behind all that man-bush?? 😂

Jessica Tullis

Carol is just playing the part and knows exactly what she’s doing. She doesn’t want the community to know that she’s actually strong. I’m honestly surprised she didn’t hide any weapons.

Reaction Therapy

Thank you so much for this fender, and for sharing such a vulnerable story🙏 I would love to hear some of your music😊 and that’s cool how you can travel and live in different places👍 thank you for being who you are😊

Tina Johnson

And now we have arrived at Alexandria! Yay! 😀

Eileen

All that niceness and calmness would have freaked me out.

Andrew R

And Tom bought it 😂

Andrew R

Rick has already said Carl was a man. I wouldn't expect Rick to freak out because he is outside the walls.

Andrew R

The laughing at private school kids might have been the best part of this episode 😆

Eileen

Maybe Daryl is indeed that proverbial 'outdoor cat' as mentioned by whatshisface (claimer) in an earlier episode. Also - if he is too clean and fresh it may not be as good for hunting. Better to smell like a forest floor, perhaps.

Andrew R

We don't see the characters you listed because each episode is less than an hour long. As more characters are added, character arcs have to be alternated.

Eileen

I am trying not to be an over-explainer anymore. I've done rather well for months - by avoiding people and spending time with mares & foals instead. Hahaha! No firewalls with animals. Your prior suffering and craving for peace did it. I get it. I love the triumph and ingenuity of the human spirit (one of the reasons I keep watching TWD).

Fender Fox

Ah I totally understand 🙏 it can be very hard to find your peace but once you find it keep it safe, no matter what it looks like. Keeping boundaries is very healthy and it sounds like you are doing great. ☺️ thanks for the kind words!!

Gracie's Revenge

Ya it would just seem...not real. Or at least not legit. I can understand why Rick, Carol, etc don't seem to be fully on board right now, it would take a lot of convincing and time for me. Over the past couple of months our group has suffered immense loss and hardships, all at the hands of humans, not walkers. There's been no break since the Gov rolled back up to the prison that day, and even then, they'd just suffered many losses due to that flu. Deanna and Aaron and his manh seem nice, the son of Deanna is really...dickish IMO lol, but other than that it just seems like weakness and being incredibly ill-prepared for the dangers of their modern world are the main problems in Alexandria. Can't wait for Tom to see how the rest of the season plays out (and this is still part of my favorite stretch of the whole series, right up through the end of season 6. I still love the show after that, but this is really peak TWD)

Jo

I just love how Carol disguises herself as the weak mom that needs a group to keep her safe. The move taking off the gun was brilliant. She’s set herself up to meet all the people, learn bout them and never been seen as a threat. Meanwhile she’s meeting with Rick and Daryl about contingencies and backup plans. Stealthy in a blue cardigan. 🤣

Sussie

Mm Daryl is not comfortable in this fancy community. I think he’s always been looked down on from people like these. And he can’t pretend to be someone he’s not like Carol did. She’s blending in quickly and want to look as harmless as possible.

Ethan Pritchard

I love the Alexandria arc, it’s so underrated in both comics and show. Such good dynamics between the old world and the new one

Tyah Reacts

Welcome to Alexandria Tom!🫶🏾 This my favorite arc of the whole show 🔥

Dave Canon

The town is a real town. It’s a town called Senoia. They really put walls around it for the show. They’re no longer up since the show ended. But it was a big tourist attraction when they were up.

Cademan

That first meeting is one of my favorite scenes, Rick’s voice when he says “you’ve been behind these walls this entire time?”

Tina Andrews

I cant believe you fell for "community carol". Lol.

Korivex

Yes, Daryl doesn't seem to want to go back to that world where he was looked at as a low life, he found his place in this group and he has purpose. Who will he be here, he is a red neck in an uppity community. I love the role Carol is playing, she is so good at looking like she is the innocent, incompetent widow.

Korivex

It also kind of shows that Rick doesn't necessarily think that it is really that much safer within the walls. Being out here is what they are used to, it is just normal to be out there.

Amy J

Me thinks Carol might be playing the long game here, making herself seem weaker than she is 🤔

Kevin Fog

There we go! Now I'm finally up-to-date. I love what Carol is doing, playing the part, like she's not the badass that saved her friends from Terminus. And about Rick? Yeah he doesn't sound like Officer Friendly anymore. I wonder what Shane would think.

Feliciano Diaz

I was saying to myself "they're a part of a commune. They're communists now!" just as Deanna said the communists won after all XD

Mami's Gatos

That is Shane's baby, Yo! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤭🤭🤭

CaniacFanatic

If you look on a map, Woodbury is right across the street from Alexandria.
