Excited for mystery week. Finally getting to log on and catch up on some things. Still hoping for a chance at Naruto :( fingers crossed for tomorrow. If you do can you do dub please?)

LincolnD

W Mabb

OH MY GOD YESSSSSSSSS I LOVE THIS SHOW

griffin(aruto) cofell

I fear it won’t happen, we haven’t been lobbying for awhile on that and I think it left the dialogue for too long :( the fight continues!

Sarah Cameron

I sadly have just kinda given up on it having a chance but I also can’t jump on the livestreams to request it still. I get it but it sucks because it’s the perfect show for this channel. It does have a lot of episodes but there are other series that are long on here too :(

Ceylen

Been praying for times like this🙏🏼🥲 This intro will get tom hyped aswell the coming episodes

* Rose *

Woohoo, cant watch now but excited to watch Later!

Ceylen

True detective wya in the chat?!?!

griffin(aruto) cofell

I agree! It’s comparable In length to the entire Dexter franchise which it seems like we will be doing. The emotional payoffs are so so so worthwhile, I’m still prayin!

Jake

LETSS GOOOOOOOOO

Callie

Omg! I'm going to miss "True Detective" being on here, but so happy for you

Warius

You can rest now.

Avery

My favorite intro song besides Game of Thrones and Sopranos

CJ

WHOLE REASON I BOUGHT PATREON WAS TO SUGGEST THIS AND WATCH TWD

W Mabb

Amazing mystery week so far!!! True detective, Fallout, and peaky blinders are all must sees for Tom IMO!

Cyrill_JJK

To answer your question, True Detective is a different story each season. McConaughey and Harrelson are the leads for season 1 and the general consensus is that season 1 is the best by far. I agree. Absolute must watch of a season.

GravyBoat

What’s your name gonna be now 😂😂

Tina Johnson

Each season of True Detectives has different actors. Personally I thought season 4 was really good too but nothing is like the original!!!!

ammogreed

The other seasons are don't have very good pace

Fender Fox

Everyone's gotta give Six Feet Under a chance as well hehe 😋 too bad he can't watch every show 1 day a week so we all get our favorite shows in the loop. ☺️

Steven Quinn

forgot how good this season was. it has been a while but dang it is good.

AJ

Hahaha it's so funny, my friend group just started watching this together. We're a ways ahead of you, but I've been minding my toddler while we watch, so I feel like I've missed some important bits 😅 Excited to watch again with everyone here!

S

Speaking of Game of thrones…

Patrick Bartsch

Yeah that first season would definitely be worth a watch :)

Vamwolf 77

I forgot how much I liked this show...

Avery

?

David Guerrero

Congratulations (shakes your hand like you just came back from space) I hope he continues this series.

Jessica Tullis

I have watched this but I remember nothing. So go for it. I know that the members really want to watch this.

Kyle

I have to see more

Phil Davies

I remember being really disappointed in Season 2 - but I just did a rewatch and Season 2 is actually pretty decent, especially when you can binge it and you’re not holding it up to Season 1

Tristan

This show is largely based on Thomas Ligotti's work. Ligotti is a (cosmic) horror writer and has written one theoretical book on pessimism (The Conspiracy Against The Human Race) which leans heavily on a Norwegian philosopher named Zapffe. Herman Tennessen, from Zapffe's circle, has something to say, which I think is interesting in the context of this patreon: "The fact that a patient is classified as mentally or emotionally sick prevents the psychotherapist from enquiring into the possibility of whether, or to what extent, his patient may be cognitively right. It is perfectly possible that a person with “existential frustration,” “ontological despair,” or simply ‘“sub-clinical depression” may, because of his abnormal condition, be in a better position to look through the camouflage of life that still is deceiving the “healthy” psychotherapists. " - Herman Tennessen, Happiness Is For The Pigs, 1966/67, p. 198. Also, minute 44 of this video, in case you missed it: "I always thought it was just something for children to do. Keep 'em busy. Tell them stories about why they're tying sticks together." as the camera pans to a cross, two sticks tied together. A story to keep us busy - that's the whole point of the underlying philosophy of the show right there. BUT it isn’t simply “religion is fake.” It’s that meaning is a human artifact. Consciousness is a tragic misstep in evolution precisely because it forces us to make stories to survive the void, keeps us in a loop of asking questions, that cannot be answered, addressed at something that is indifferent to our existence. Rust’s nihilism is itself one of those stories.
