THANK YOU, TOM, FOR THIS JOURNEY!!

Avery

Meadow was Tony's guardian angel. She was late to walk into the restaurant, which led to Tony's murder...

AdamAshcraft222

Tom dancing to the intro was apparently exactly what I needed to cheer me up lol. Thank you for such an amazing reaction series as always.

T.M.

Bobby and Tony were talking about how you probably never hear it when it happens. With Bobby, it was the train whistle, with Tony, it would be the bell when Meadow opens the door. The crime family itself is more or less no more. With Chris and Bobby dead and Sil basically dead, Tony only has Paulie, who is superstitious and Patsy really. New York would scoop them up sooner or later and the family would be no more. Especially if Tony dies. Even if Tony lives, he'll most likely be convicted and spend the rest of his life in prison. Either way, he's cooked and the family is more or less finished.

Thanks Tom for this journey 🤍 I joined last minute but I’m hoping the next show to fill this slot will be Shameless or Lucifer 🤞🏾

Melfi's therapist is a shmuck!

LSTER

Mr Inbetween next!

Avery

I'd love to hear if others agree but I was never a fan of Melfi's ending in the show. I always thought it seemed like they just never knew what to do with her character to take it to the next level of becoming a main character, and they kind of just quietly wrote her out. Idk I thought she deserved a bigger role in season 6

Was really fun going on this Sopranos journey with you! For me, there’s still no show that matches The Sopranos from a psychological standpoint or when it comes to how real the characters feel. I also think it gets better & better with every rewatch because you start picking up on so many little details that were missed the first time around. The ending also gets better with time. There are a lot of hints throughout Season 6, and even in some of the earlier seasons, that ultimately explain what happened to Tony in the diner. The final scene keeps switching between Tony and his POV. “You probably don’t even hear it when it happens.” We never hear a gunshot because that sudden cut to black IS Tony’s POV. In an instant, he can’t see or hear anything anymore because he’s been killed.

Avery

You guessing what Sil was gonna say was so funny

LSTER

Lorraine Bracco was disappointed with Melfi's ending too

Avery

Agent Harris becoming a personal informant for Tony is wild lmao

Avery

"He's gonna join the fuckin army" and its just Carm sitting in the hot tub like 😑. Absolute gold comedy

Avery

The ending scene gives me so much anxiety

Avery

I wouldn't recommend watching the HBO documentary. It represents James Gandolfini's image in bad and untruthful taste

Gerald Nugent

Her dropping Tony really did come out of nowhere, her reading the report and deciding to stop seeing him took just two episodes. I definitely wish that was built up more, maybe throughout the season. Besides that, we had so much going on with the Mob characters, Tony’s family, etc. that I don’t think Melfi’s character could’ve been used any further.

Benjamin Lincoln

my heart rate at the end of the final episode never fails to raise no matter how many times i watch this. PERFECT ending

Gael Verde

Just breakin balls 🤌

Dean Costa

Tony rubbished Paulie’s superstitions. If you can cast your mind back far enough, Paulie was once warned by the dead about a particular number/time on the clock which he obsessed over for a whole episode. It was 3:00. The man coming out of the toilet was at Tony’s 3 o’clock.

Dean Costa

Second this. Such an incredible show

The Sopranos finale might be one of the gutsiest endings ever put on TV. No big showdown, no neat little bow, no answers handed to you..just tension building over something as ordinary as dinner, until suddenly…nothing.

Kei

Tom: 'I wouldn't have minded not seeing her' (about Janice)🤣 oh come on Tom, it's one of the last times, make the most 😆

Kei

Hey Tom, i hope you don't mind me asking but what is your professional opinion of telling someone, especially a child, that 'only babies cry', what is the impact of such a thing?

Kei

What I love most about Silvio is his absolute loyalty to the end 🫡

Kei

It's just occurred to me that this is the last time we will see Tom dance to the sopranos theme tune 😢

Jay

It was a good show!..

Kei

The clip of the girl screaming with happiness and excitement was from the movie 'Little Miss Sunshine', great movie packed with lots of mental health issues

Mami's Gatos

Thsts cute but I really dont see how. She definitely walked in to see him get shot in the face in front of her. Poor AJ, man. He is gonna be a full basket case after that.

Mami's Gatos

It's literally the perfect show

Avery

She couldn't park her car correctly, which led to her being late to get to dinner. As she walked in, Tony looks up and is killed. But if she had not had trouble parking, she would've sat down next to Tony on his left, which is where the gun was probably shot from. I think if Meadow parked without trouble, Tony would've never been killed.

Callie

From what I had been told, it was following Tony's life... that's why it stopped so suddenly.

Mami's Gatos

After all he put Adriana through..

Mami's Gatos

It's dismissive. Dominica is gonna have major emotional issues with Janis as her mother. Shes gonna suppress any negative emotions. Shes gonna learn that ger mo. Won't deal with her when she's upset. RIP Bobby 🙏

Mami's Gatos

I busted out laughing when you said, "what happened?" David Chase confirmed that Tony was killed by the guy in the members only jacket when went to the bathroom

Michael Rabey

Tony was taken out. He never even heard it when it happened and we witnessed the death from Tony's perspective. There's also a prequel movie that released a couple of years ago. Many Saints of Newark. I think most people felt it was a let down but it was nice to get another taste of the Sopranos after all these years.

Mark T

David Chase never confirmed that. He said the following, "Because the scene I had in my mind was not that scene. Nor did I think of cutting to black. I had a scene in which Tony comes back from a meeting in New York in his car. At the beginning of every show, he came from New York into New Jersey, and the last scene could be him coming from New Jersey back into New York for a meeting at which he was going to be killed. Yeah. But I think I had this notion—I was driving on Ocean Park Boulevard near the airport and I saw a little restaurant. It was kind of like a shack that served breakfast. And for some reason I thought, “Tony should get it in a place like that.” Why? I don’t know. That was, like, two years before." That's not a confirmation, he obviously changed the ending and left it up to interpretation.

Mark T

Like any TV show they only feature main characters. The idea of them being scooped up is unrealistic. According to HBO the DiMeo family has 50-60 made guys. 5-6 crews with around 10 made soldiers each and another 150+ associates. Small in comparison to real life Gambino family with around 150-200 made guys but not exactly a "glorified crew". The real life Colombo family in New York only has between 75-90 made guys. Not much bigger than the fictional DiMeo family, which was actually based on the real life DeCavalcante family of New Jersey. Which also has around the same number of made guys as the DiMeo family in the Sopranos.

Mark T

This article has the same quote I posted in my previous post. I suggest you re-read the article, David Chase never once has said "Tony died", it is the opinion and interpretation of the author of the article that said Tony died. David Chase talked about an idea he had 2 years prior and as we all watched the ending of Sopranos does not match up with what his earlier idea was. Cutting to black intentionally leaves it up to interpretation. There's nothing in that final scene that definitely points to Tony dying. It's just tension build up to leave the audience on the edge of their seat and draw their own conclusion.

MamaBinTennessee

Yay! I made it to the end! What a fun time with this series reaction, Tom. I’ve heard a lot of theories, and it makes me wonder: did Paulie Gualtieri knowingly step aside to let the assassination happen (Play the, or was he being sincere about staying loyal to Tony? Could he be moving over to the New York crew, or do you think he already flipped to the FBI because of the incoming indictments? I mean, you don't just walk away from the mob. Paulie was a jerk, but Tony never truly liked him and always passed him over when it came to promotions. Whether Tony was shot or not, he was gonna go to prison most likely. I just don’t think they would’ve showed all those other people coming into the diner had it not been for a reason other than Tony constantly watching aware. Lastly, Anthony doesn't need to be dating a teenager. Especially with how much more we understand these days about how dangerous huge maturity and power imbalances can be, as I'm sure you know. Even though the age of consent is still 16 in New Jersey, it is creepy and just not good all around.

Word about her client was now out, thanks to Elliot, and her life was now in immediate danger.
