the guy on the horse is the bishop Nico I'm pretty sure. Nico is the worst bishop of all representing depression. the color yellow is significant as it's a color the bishops can't see/scares them. hence when the banditøs (fans trying to help Tyler escape Dema, Dema being the city all the bishops live in) and Josh threw the yellow flower petals down the bishops and it's horse started to freak out. if you look at Tyler's neck during that part you can see the black start to fade away. my theory with the jumpsuit is the yellow on it is what makes him feel better which is why he screams for his jumpsuit in other words is screaming out for help. i tend to think of Trench (the name of this album) as Tyler's last escape attempt. he needs to get to that trench that's just outside the walls of Dema. a lot of this is will make more sense as you get further into this album, this album so far is the most lore intensive. also you were right, that car in the beginning is from the heavy dirty soul music video!

Every time I see you’re reacting to TOP I get giddy. Alex- you are spot on and Tom, you know the meaning more than you know. You always get their lyrics meaning. I wish I could bottle up the concert experience and replay it over and over. The best concert ever live.

Hi guys, great reaction Tom! Jumpsuit is one of my favourite top tracks! As youve said, it’s amazing live! I think this video was filmed in Iceland, there’s a behind the scenes video on the band’s YT channel about the filming of it (I think!). Please stop giving yourself such a hard time with the meanings! You ‘get’ a lot more than you think! And you know that so much is open to your own interpretation and how the music ‘feels’ to you personally, as well as all the DEMA lore. ‘Trench’ is the name of the place that’s shown in the video, it’s the place in between Dema and ‘normality’. Like Alex said above, the Red figure is Nico, he is Tyler’s ‘bishop’ and is trying to capture him to return to Dema. I.e. the physical manifestation of his fears and insecurities (as shown by the neck and hand paint). Nico was also the one driving/controlling the car in HeavyDirtySoul - which is the prequel to this video. The people on the hill were the Banditos (Josh and Jenna were both up there), trying to break through Tyler’s insecurities and help him escape from Nico and therefore not return to Dema (again). It helps to keep in mind with tøp that everything works in cycles, so tyler has tried to escape many times before. I’m not sure if you’re reacting to the album in order, but for the ‘trilogy’, it goes Jumpsuit, Nico and the Niners and then Levitate - so although that’s not the album order, it’d be great to do these in the trilogy order so the story is more cohesive. In addition to the Dema storyline, I think this track also deals with the pressure Tyler felt between the Blurryface and Trench eras. They massively blew up, won their Grammy, sold millions of records etc with Blurryface and tyler has said he wasn’t mentally prepared for how ‘different’ it would be - suddenly having such a massive success and feeling the pressure of new fans, new places to perform, industry issues, keeping the label happy etc, all while dealing with his own mental health issues. Tyler has a lyric, near the end of the album that says, ‘last year, I neededchance of pace, couldn’t take the pace of change’ - I think this was really telling about his mental state at the time. They had a 3 year break (fans will call it the ‘hiatus’) between albums, came off social media, didn’t do any press etc. Then burst back into the scene with Jumpsuit! It was such an exciting moment - and Trench literally blew me away!!! It’s an absolutely fantastic album! I can’t wait for you to hear it all and piece the story together! Sorry for the Huge comment lol! X

Everyone has said everything perfectly. The only thing I would add is you really should watch the beyond the video of all their videos. They are GREAT fun and you get to watch Tyler and Josh have fun and joke with each other. Plus learn about the locations.
