A Blue Hour Blending Tutorial (Patreon)
Content
I photographed these two spires in a remote region of Capitol Reef National Park with Robert McKendrick and Wayne Pinkston.
I measured them at about 234 feet high (taller than a 23-story building, as tall as 39 six foot men, or 4.5 times taller than Utah's iconic Delicate Arch).
Capitol Reef no longer allows light painting (any "artificial lighting," including my LLL or Low Level Lighting). A long exposure blend with starlight (during the Astronomical Dusk) is a good substitute; however, a Blue Hour blend can be much better, since the light is more directional than flat, overhead starlight.
This tutorial is an example of the of the type of exclusive content that comes to you monthly with even my $3/month supporter membership.
To learn the actual software techniques of blending, I suggest you view two videos from the 2021 NightScaper Conference by Jessica Cathrine Santos and Dave Soldano. Both of these (and 67 other program videos) can be accessed via my PATREON account for only $19/month — or learn blending from my eBook (a gift you can get with only a $3/month supporter membership).
