My 'NightScape Photography' Meetup Group (Patreon)
Content
Last night, a dozen members of our group and four of their guests, met with me out in Utah's west desert, for a free photo walk that included nightscape instruction and tips.
"Lone Rock," a landmark about 50 west of Salt Lake City, was our destination. It's a natural feature that marks the entrance into Skull Valley. John C. Fremont, Jedidiah Smith and the Donner Party were just a few of the explorers and emigrants who passed by this rock. Captain Stansbury believed he could hold off any number of Indians from the rock if he found it necessary to occupy Lone Rock for defense purposes.
I've been hosting the NightScape Photography Meetup Group for over nine years, during which time we've met in over 40 different locations, across 14 different states. Most of these meet ups have been free events: photo walks, classes and lectures on starry night photography.
We now have over 3,200 members, in virtually every state of the United States. I hope you'll join us, and suggest a location in your area where we can meet up and enjoy an evening together!
