Hello! We have a fun announcement to make! For those of you who haven't noticed her name in the credits of verilybitchie videos, Ada is my mostly invisible co-creator on the channel (although you might have occassionally seen bits of her, such as her hands doing the "heavy page turns" at the beginning of the latest video)!

Ada has been working on building a website about bisexual books. The Literary Bisexual is a curated selection of bi books, an attempt to share those which usually don't make it onto lists of bi representation. If you're tired of reading exclusively American literature or maybe you're looking for something more grown up than YA but are having trouble finding good recommendations, then check out Ada's new site!

Unlike a lot of sites offering recommendations, Ada's doesn't take commission on books and isn't paid for reviews, it just comes from her love for bisexual literature (and also resentment of American cultural imperialism)!

Ada was inspired to make the site when we were working on the social media video. Rather than spend time on social media, she decided to devote time to learning how to code a website from scratch! How awesome is that?!

If you don't want to do a lot of reading and you just want a quick book recommendation, check her recommendation roulette page!

The site is gradually growing as she reads more bi works from around the globe and writes informative reviews. So far there is at least one book from every continent. Our bookshelves are full of more international books she'll be reading, adding, and reviewing this year, so check back for updates!

You don't know how much I've been dying for something like that - even when I do find rec lists, I end up losing them before I get more than 2 books in, and have to try to find some twitter thread from 6 months ago, which I never succeed at. A website that I can bookmark and go back to again and again is brilliant.

Amazing work!! Coding from scratch AND creating the lists also from scratch? Bravo! I have been looking for queer books that aren't YA, so this is exactly what I need! Bookmarking it right away

oh, brilliant, I'll be sure to follow it, since it is very much *my shit*! I am feeling a bit sad that the one Romanian/ Moldavian novel I would fully recommend for this came out a year ago and I don't know if it will be translated soon or ever. On the other hand, I just finished yesterday 'You Exist Too Much' by Zaina Arafat (who is Palestinian-American). And I kinda love that both of these I've mentioned also have a layer about bi-geographical identity.

Ada's reply: "I have a couple of books on the site that haven't been translated to English yet, and I just label them as such! I wish I had more Eastern European books to include on the website so if you'd be willing to write a short summary, I'd be happy to post it!"

Ruxandra Grecu

I'd love to do that! Just let me know the ideal word count or character count and should I just post it here or...?

I’d love to read a Romanian book - in Romanian 😀 if you wouldn’t mind sharing the title

Learning to code a website from scratch AND give us bi book recommendations from around the globe?! Amazing stuff! Also, “This website doesn’t use cookies” just warms my heart. Thank you both ❤️

It's Dezrădăcinare, by Sașa Zare!
