Heya folks and Happy New Year!

We're going to start off with a brand new WIP that I'm working on for Siphedious and his alternate character, Gmork. A character with a dark, shameful past who's ambition is to find redemption.

From a composing perspective I've begun by taking an ominous, dark and uncertain Piano, that blends into a background of whispering, representing echoes of his past and then the choir becoming in sync as he attempts to focus his goal. The Viola then comes in for a delicate yet powerful melody that leads the bulk of the Orchestra and Choir.

We then enter a much darker bridge section where you'll hear sampled chains as being part of this ominous and foreboding rhythm. One inspiration is from the game "Amnesia: The Dark Descent", where the monster is near, and you have to do everything you can to not let it fool you into changing direction or worse, bumping right into it!

A final big reprise of the melody, showcasing the massive burden he holds on his shoulders, yet still... he walks.... He endures.

(If you like me pouring out my thought process like this lmk in the comments, I'll do it more XD)

Final version will be shared once finished this month, hope you all enjoy!

I'm probably a bit biased, but I love you providing this kind of background context! I'm the kind of person who tends to be as interested in process as I am in product, so learning more about what influences, inspires, and drives you to create the songs you create (even if it's "because the commissioner asked for this part...") would be really enjoyable to me!

I'm gonna echo the 'yote here. More of the inspiration and process, certainly. It's fascinating how you can so perfectly capture the 'feel' even when that is a complex goal. I'm reminded of what you achieved with "Twilight Embrace", taking two melodies and bringing them together, only to tear them apart once again. You can capture these complex emotions and 'feels' with such precision. Always fascinating to hear your process and inspirations. =^.^=

I can't (or shouldn't?) give spoilers, but I'll say there's one part of the WIP that I specifically requested be changed for the final work. See if you can guess which part! :p

I was listening to this and definitely went places... What a great job! I can perfectly see the character walking stoic, going through the ghosts of the past and moving forward to a new future. Can't wait to listen to the final version! Also, I love reading more about the creative process. In my second run I was following the description and understood perfectly the instruments dynamic. So far so good (I mean, like soooooo good)!!!

I can't take credit for the composition, but I can take some credit for the idea, so...thanks!
