Look at me deciding to be vulnerable and go through thousands of my old comics to arrange and display my (decent) old shit for the internet to see 😂 I do think it's important for artists to show/reflect on progression though, as cringy as it can be sometimes lol Also to prove to you guys that I wasn’t lying when I said I’ve been drawing comics for half my life

All of these pages are from different stories, MOST of them unfinished and all but 6 were BL or had BL undertones lol Some lasted 200 pages some lasted 20 and only my lil anime nerd friend circle read them. Also they were all the “manga” format: vertical speech bubbles and reading right to left cuz that’s how the cool kids did it yo

I love how angsty they all are. 😆

Quadrant

One constant thing has always been your love for emo and punk types 😄 Do you still have early art around that is posted?

Redmari

No, I never posted any of those comics online 😅 Bettencourt Hotel was my first online child lol

Redmari

Emo and angsty were my specialty! 😂

Mccull

Ahhhh!!! You're so brave for sharing this lmao. Honestly, I think it's really cool that you've been making comics since MIDDLE School! I wasn't confident enough to start making comics until I was a senior in highschool, so... I'm jealous of all the extra practice you had because you started early <3

Awwww babys all grown up :) it's amazing to see

Redmari

Lol! I’ve joked before that it was how I stayed awake/alert in all my classes. I passed Algebra by drawing gay lil comics 😂

It’s good you kept it. I know too many oldies like me who regret tossing old art from schools years. Like it was shameful or “not good enough” my dad kept a few and gave them to me as an adult. I cherish those so much now.

Redmari

Aaw I’m glad you still have some of your artwork! I feel the same way, I would hate to toss anything and then regret it later. Not that I ever go back to it much but it’s like photos, once they’re gone you can’t just go buy another one later
