Rooftop picnic 🧺 Just don’t fall over the edge lol

Someone's being romantic. As romantic as a rooftop dinner in a circus prison can be

Oh Noah, he’s trying so hard to be sweet and romantic in an absolute hellscape. Honestly the only way I can see this rooftop date going well is if Noah agrees to help him escape, and idk how likely that is. He knows Cricket doesn’t belong there (more so than everyone else, who don’t deserve to be there either, but Cricket was accidental), but there’s two things I think that would prevent him from helping Cricket escape: 1. He seems so disenfranchised with the notion of freedom they literally set him free KNOWING he’d come back, and 2. Practicality. As much as he wants to escape, Cricket’s body has been modified to where he won’t be able to have a life outside of the circus. Noah at least is “passing” he can leave the circus with zero suspicion from society, but Cricket would turn some heads. Now there’s one big reason I don’t think Cricket would even TELL Noah he’s trying to escape. Cricket knows Noah was set free and returned of his own free will. Regardless of any feelings he has towards Noah or any hypothetical ways Noah could help him escape, I doubt Cricket would trust him enough to tell him because of that. Because the evil brothers setting Noah free knowing he’d come back? That requires a level of (fucked up) trust (more like brainwashing. I wonder how long Noah’s been with the circus?) and trying to decide whether Noah’s loyalty to him would go over his loyalty to the evil brothers being a question at all would be enough to keep his mouth shut. If he made the smart, rational decision. Buuuuut there’s feelings in the mix, so who knows!
