I greatly appreciate the candor. I have been around a while and was an intern who got to be a fly on the wall in the post mortum of the 1201 and 1202 errors. Some idiot at MIT did not read the flight manual and assumed the ascent radar was turned off when the manual said it should be on in case of an emergency abort instead of waiting for it to come up.
