The movie they are referencing is the massively popular 1988 hit, Stand and Deliver. Based on a true life story of a teacher who helped inner city kids who were assumed to be a lost cause by everyone else, Jaime Escalante, helped kids turn their lives around and be successful and his teaching methods revolutionized the way curriculums were though in schools. A must watch classic and powerful movie featuring Edward James Holmos and Lou Diamond Phillips.

Worldwide Recorder Concert is a good episode if you want some Mr Garrison lore

They would show Stand and Deliver in junior high school back in the day. Especially for the ESL classes, back then in seventh grade we were divided into three groups of ESL, depending on our English level two of the groups would have a secondary teacher assistant that would translate for the class. After showing us the movie, one of the actual students the movie was based on came to give a talk to us at an assembly, she ended up working for Caltrans: California Department of Transportation at the time. Edward James Olmos was great as the teacher, looked just like Cartman. All before the glorious Battlestar Galactica series remake.

Where My Country Gone? (s19e02)…the first episode in the saga where Mr. Harrison becomes The President.

Follow that egg (S09E10) is a good Mrs. Garrison episode

Please have some more variety, I get that you like the Garrison episodes, but it gets a bit boring seeing the same type of episodes so little apart all the time

I totally disagree. I LOVED that they got to this so quickly. They did some others in-between.
