Last week, I focused only on animations to see how much I could output in a week. This time, I let the story renders run without animations to see what the number would be.
In total, 434 story renders completed this week, and I'm very satisfied with that. And not a single one of them are blinking eyes. :) (yes, I know people boost their numbers by blinking eyes a lot!)
On the flip side, I'm working on the 'couch scene', and it's incredibly demoralizing to work on. With so many people present, and because I constantly have to clear a scene and reload from another angle with different people in the camera, I simply can't get a decent flow going. Clearing and reloading a scene is at least 5 minutes of waiting, and when you have to take constant unwanted five-minute breaks several times every hour, it ruins workflow completely.
A little preview (and yes, I also render extra people out of the camera view because of the reflection in the window in the back):
But I'm working my way through it, and I'm about halfway done.
Another unwanted side effect of this taking so long to pose is that my render queue is shrinking, and as I write this, only five renders are left in the queue. So I'll set up another animation scene to make sure it's got something to thew on while I complete this.
I've also been testing RedVault this week, with the new and rewritten download/update/patching function, so it now works like a proper Steam clone, even on slower drives like HDD and SATA, and uses less storage space.
Once the backbone is in place and properly tested, we can start focusing on the Linux and Mac versions.
Ending this update with a preview of someone you haven't seen in a while. If you're the forgiving kind, you should be able to give her a proper welcome (4K attached).
Have a nice weekend, and stay safe as always.
