It's been a good week, and also a bit of a stressful one.
I'm posing huge, detailed scenes with a lot of people, and it's hard to pose fast enough to keep the render queue filled up.
This week we also had a bit of sunny weather here, with temps reaching 26C, and since I skipped summer vacation this year, I decided to take a few days off to enjoy it with the missus. The weather has been so weird this year with literally no summer, so we've got to enjoy the good days when they come, even when it's Sept/Oct and the render queue is running out.
I still got 289 story renders done, so it's good progress. That also means episode 6 is now bigger than episode 5, totaling 2,904 renders, and that's in just over three months, so overall, progress is going well. But it also means the render queue is now empty, and my render rigs are idling while I'm doing the post-editing of this week's renders.
We've also been doing a lot of testing in the RedVault launcher/downloader, and it's now acting very much like a Steam clone.
Visually, downloading and updating should have a very familiar look, and it will now install simultaneously as the download progresses. While testing, with my gigabit internet, the full 12.6GB U4iA download and install took 2 minutes and 40 seconds on SSD, and 3 minutes and 40 seconds on HDD.
Another big change is that you can now add games you have already downloaded, and the launcher will detect your version and patch it accordingly instead of forcing a full download. Useful for those with slow download speeds (this only works for games added to RedVault, of course).
Hopefully the changes will go live this upcoming week, and you should see more games added from other developers as well.
To end this update, here's a silly render of Geneva eating the safeword. Because she's never going to use it anyway.
Take care, and stay safe out there!
