Update 3/18:

Panel 1 done.

This story is based on an old saying that I really like. You have two ears so you can listen twice as much as you talk. I was originally going to do an Aesop-esque story, but I got stuck on this quote instead.

I usually don't start drawing the panels until I know exactly what each panel is going to look like. Unfortunately for me this time I'm gambling on the fact that I'll figure out what panel 4 is going to be like when I get to it. I know how the story is going to end, I just have no idea how to show it in a way that maximizes the creepiness/horror of it. 

Update 3/19:

Panel 2 done!

I get to do the fun thing, and play with a lot of black when I colour this. It's what excites me the most. So far still no solid way to show the ending. Not too worried. I still have one panel left to think before I need to commit.

Panel 3 done!

I had a spurt of inspiration and added a few things to both panel 2 and 3. Hopefully I can shade it in a way where the new details will show!

Update 3/20:

Panel 4 done!

I'm pretty happy with how I came to this final panel. I'm thinking of maybe doing a wallpaper design and maybe a pattern for the pajamas. Maybe hide a few secrets in those. We'll see when I have to fill in the details.
