Hey everyone, it's... oh yeah, there's no Early Access this week due to the holiday (I'm posting a video you've already seen if you're a Patreon subscriber). So instead, I thought I'd post a Q&A for those who are already sick of their family and/or trampling people for 10% off a toaster (does anyone do physical Black Friday shopping anymore? Feel like that's gone).ANYWAY, same rules as always, ask me pretty much anything and I'll try and answer it. Favorite things, queries about my video-making process, hypothetical questions about what celebrities would win in some sort of Thunderdome-style situation, maybe you want to know more about my UK trip, my thoughts on current events I haven't covered in videos... whatever!I will try to get to them as quick as I can, but I should also mention... I'm spending this weekend working on THE TEN WORST SONGS OF 2025! I've actually got the script half-written as I write this, I'll have more to share next week about the usual Worst Songs Week Festivities that we've been doing here every year.Anyway, even though I'm not American, allow me to take this Thanksgiving opportunity to give thanks to you for keeping this channel alive and giving me an audience for my angry comedy. I greatly appreciate that you're still watching after all these years!

Since we are nearing the 10 worst songs list, what has been your favourite songs this year or ones you would recommend?

bowlr

What’s the worst movie you’ve ever seen?

Jose Vazquez

Do you know who let the dogs out? Who?! Who?! Who?! Who?!

Fawkes

What's your favorite video of your own is from the last couple of years?

Sean Rapley

Completely out there question, might be out the scope of what you can answer. If at all, what would it take for rock music to be back in the mainstream/ something that young people listen to again? Other than a few out-standers, it seems to be that any type of rock music is uncool or out of date for many young people, is it ever possible to make a come back and how?

King Kryptonite

Q1: Any video games coming in 2026 that are on your wish list? Q2: Did you watch the Netflix live action One Piece show? If so, did you like it? As someone who barely made a dent into the anime, I enjoyed it (they announced S3 before S2 is even out) Q2 Follow Up: Do you think live action anime adaptations require the original creator involved to be successful? One Piece managed to be, but Cowboy Bebop and Yu Yu Hakusho were misfires, despite some fans enjoying them

sXe_Wolverine

As we know it to be, never. The closest to rock being back we will ever get is stuff like MGK and Olivia Rodrigo where they take big inspiration from the bands we know as rock bands. Also alt culture is kind of coming back in a medium size way, so you're seeing bands like Ghost, Sleep Token and Simple Plan getting more popular / again through Tik Tok and social media "sounds" - Not Buckley

Le Tired

Who do you think you are, running around leaving scars, collecting your jar of hearts and tearing love apart?

hopegriffith90

I'm sure you've answered this in the past. I want to know if you watch YouTube and if so what do you like. Happy holidays buckley

Jimmy Hass

I really like your show, but not sure if I love it, or am in love with it. How do I know if I just like it, or actually in love? There is a distinction from what I hear.

Lizzi Huskey

Do you watch anything of DC? If so have you seen Peacemaker? Happy Black Friday.

mariteaux

What's the weirdest place you've heard of someone discovering your videos from? Back in the day (I was like 11 or 12), a guy named youngbloodfantasy91 did a pretty indignant reaction video (they called them commentaries in that "scene" I guess) to your old Musical Autopsy on One Direction because you compared them to the early work of the Beatles. I think I remember seeing you in the comments replying to him and everything. I have no idea why I watched this guy other than it was funny to watch people argue on the Internet, but now all his old videos are private and I give you $5 a month for bonus doses. Weird how that works.

Adebayo Thompson

Two Video Game Questions 1. Do you personally feel like you have enough time to play all of the games you want? 2. Are you mostly playing Modern Games or Old Games more?

Aaron Rainer

Do you think we will have ww3 in the next 10 years?

Nathan Jimenez

Is there a video you ever regret making ? I mean I highly doubt it, but just curious to know the answer tho

Brysoncore

do you think the world would be significantly different if nike made sodas and coke made shoes?

ElFrioSilencio

I know you wrote alot for certain websites back in the day. Would you ever be interested in writing reviews for indie films? How much are you usually paid for freelance stuff like that, if you don't mind me asking. As a filmmaker myself, I've always thought it'd be really interesting to get your honest thoughts on my feature film. Don't worry about offending me if you have no interest in that. This is more of a half-hearted hypothetical question and not a formal request.

dennis01

Out of all your vacations and trips, which one was your favorite and why?

A Dose of Buckley

I think I mentioned a few in my "Rock's Not Dead" list, I really enjoyed the Lambrini Girls for example, and I just heard this a few weeks ago but Mammoth's "The End" is kinda cool, it's by Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang. Outside of that, I've mentioned I don't listen to a ton of music "for fun".

A Dose of Buckley

I think it's still gotta be Epic Movie. It's SO FUCKING AWFUL. Like there are bad movies where you can tell people really really tried to make a good movie, and then there are bad movies where they clearly tried to make a bad movie because they thought it was funny... but Epic Movie is somewhere in between that, it's a bad movie that I think someone tried, but they're so inept and so unfunny, it turned out to be a complete steaming pile.

A Dose of Buckley

I don't know but there are fines for not keeping your dogs on leashes or properly locked up. Whoever opened that gate should expect to pay for that mistake...

A Dose of Buckley

Favorite video of mine from the last couple of years... I really liked how my Worst Songs of 1987 even if no one else did, that first Cameoh-No I released this year I really had fun doing, any video where I include a little parody ad like the "Kick New Year's Eve" one or the "Sydney Sweeney boxing movie" one, that's always fun to me, and I think the Riyadh Comedy Festival video felt important to me.

A Dose of Buckley

Hard to say, I mean it could just be something as simple as "some new artist shows up that young people attach themselves to for some reason". Someone really charismatic or... I don't know. Like I have no idea scientifically how Morgan Wallen got so popular, why HIM over anyone else. Rock needs its own Morgan Wallen basically.

A Dose of Buckley

I'm sorta looking forward to Yakuza Kiwami 3, but... there's nothing I can REALLY think of right now. A couple indie games, there was that "Felt that Boxing" trailer a few months back, and there's a He-Man beat-em-up that'll be fun for a week, oh and obviously GTA 6 but... haha we'll see if that still actually releases in 2026. As for all the anime/live action anime questions, I don't think I have answers for that, I don't really watch them. I will say I guess that if they ever did a live action Ippo, the original creator should probably be involved (but then again, he's writing at such a snail's pace these days maybe it'd be better if he wasn't).

A Dose of Buckley

I had to look this one up, I somehow managed to miss Christina Perri (though she does sound mildly familiar, have I made fun of something she did at some point?)

A Dose of Buckley

Yeah, I watch a lot more YouTube these days than I used to. A lot of it what I watch is either British panel shows (Would I Lie to You, House of Games, 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, that sort of thing), a fair amount of sports stuff via Jomboy Media, I mentioned in a video recently that I just got into this guy who does a series called "Arcade Economy" that's all about retro video games and how much it'd cost to beat them today, and then any time a new Botchamania or Dunkey video comes out I'm all over it.

A Dose of Buckley

Hmm, good question. I would suggest that if you subscribe to someone's Patreon, you might be closer to "love" than "like". Maybe that's the distinction, that sort of long term commitment, financially or otherwise... if you just want to bang a girl once in a while for fun? You might just like her. If you want to live with her and buy her food? You probably love her.

A Dose of Buckley

I really didn't care about the DC stuff for a long time, but James Gunn has started to change that... I thought the new Superman movie was great, and I think Peacemaker is fantastic. His version of The Suicide Squad just shows what a mastery he has of the genre, I'm sure some dismiss it as "he just made Guardians of the Galaxy on Earth" but that'd be a really poor understanding of that movie.

A Dose of Buckley

The weirdest place... yeah that's a tough question, I don't really know how people discover me sometimes. I'm sure there's someone who found me from the collaboration I did with some guy called "MK Loves" or whatever his channel was, maybe there were people who found me from making fun of Manika, like they saw all the comments on her video and then went "Oh I gotta see what this is all about", probably one or two people who sided with me when The Amazing Atheist made a video about my "4/20" rant and maybe discovered me from there.

A Dose of Buckley

I probably have too much time to play video games lately. The perks of being self employed I guess (although obviously I'm a little busier this time of year) I'm playing mostly newer stuff, and mostly indies. Maybe I should revisit my "Reviewing Every Game I Played" as a Patreon exclusive this year, we'll see, but like... I just finished The Outer Worlds 2 a week or so ago, and I've been playing Ball X Pit and the new Katamari lately.

A Dose of Buckley

Oh God one can only hope... No, I tend to be an optimist (somehow) when it comes to this type of shit, and I really don't think it'll happen. No major country wants the mutually assured destruction that will come of it.

A Dose of Buckley

"regret" is a strong word, but I have mentioned in the past that Scumbags #2 (the Mongo of the Mountain one) is really not a favorite of mine, and it led to way too many people sending me some random Facebook account being like "hey this guy's got bad spelling can you do a video about him huh huh" when that really missed the point of the video.

A Dose of Buckley

Those would be some really leathery cokes and some really sticky shoes, but other than that... interesting question. I don't know, I think corporations ruling the world as they do now would still be the same no matter which ones made what products.

A Dose of Buckley

I guess this is kinda two separate questions... I did a bunch of freelance work for "Digital Music News", yeah. For those, I was paid I think about $150 US an article? But they didn't require me to do anything but provide an opinion, I didn't have to watch a 2 hour movie. I'd LOVE to become a movie reviewer for a website though, that'd be fun. But I guess that's a slightly different question than "would you review MY movie", which, maybe I'd watch it and tell you if I liked it for free, I'd have to know what it was and if it seemed interesting. if it was a paid gig, I have no idea. I guess I'd have to figure it out based on hours spent.

A Dose of Buckley

I haven't gone on many, so I think the easy answer is "Tokyo", it was just so much fun, the food was great, and I got to cross a lot of things off the bucket list (saw Kabukicho, watched boxing at Korakuen Hall, spent a ton of time in Akihabara, that sort of thing). But it's one of two really major trips I've ever taken in my life, the recent UK trip being the other one, and I did also go to Edmonton and Banff in Alberta like 15 or so years ago, it was ok but I kinda don't count it because it was in the same country (Canada IS a big country so... maybe I should count it).

Captain Bon Clay

I know you play video games but I’m now realizing I don’t know your platform of choice, that said from what you’ve seen so far regarding the steam machine or gabecube are you interested in it?

Brysoncore

go listen to my favorite bands right now Kaonashi, The Audacity, and End It

AJS Wrestling

Will Anthony Joshua take a dive for Jake Paul?

Matthew Barnett

Heard you talk about rock and metal a lot, how heavy do you go with metal? I go from classical to alternative to straight deathcore.

Greg Brobston

Have you/would you ever use psychedelics?

Danni Lamarr

Do you or you not like kids? In your videos you flip flop on that a lot. I get it’s sometimes to make a joke work, but what’s your actual opinion?

A Dose of Buckley

Probably not. I have a Rog Ally X (the first gen white one, not the Xbox branded one), I have a pretty ok gaming PC and I have all three major current gen consoles. Based on what they're saying, I don't think it fills any need for me, which I think is going to be its biggest problem. It's for a small number of people who don't have a PC but want to play PC games on a TV, or for the type of person who just wants everything (which, based on what I just said you'd THINK would be me, but... here we are).

A Dose of Buckley

Maybe after I make the Worst Songs... people would be mad if it were delayed!

A Dose of Buckley

Good question. If the money's right... I know they've tried to include some stipulations to make it tougher for him (he needs to weigh less than his last fight I believe, and AJ hasn't been training for this fight the same way he might for another, he wouldn't have been in a "camp" for this, he might have just been maintaining or doing some light workouts before getting the call to fight on semi-short notice). But I really hope it is legit, because I think we could see Jake's second loss coming quick.

A Dose of Buckley

I've mentioned before I'm not a huge fan of the really guttural or very screamy stuff. I like Sepultura, but I'm not really a huge Napalm Death fan, and although I find the idea of AC amusing, I don't actually enjoy listening to them (or any grindcore for the most part).

A Dose of Buckley

I don't think so, no. I tried edibles (just THC) and don't really enjoy the experience at all. I'm not much of a "mind altering substance" guy at all, just like a drink at the end of the week while watching a movie or relaxing with people, and I get "drunk" like once a year.

A Dose of Buckley

I think my current stance is "I don't hate kids, I hate the parents who allow kids to be annoying". Don't take your kids to things they clearly can't behave during (like if they're not ready for movie theaters, or they can't sit still on a plane, or things like that, don't take them there) and teach them how to cope with things properly. BUT ALSO, and I think this is where you might feel I "flip flop", even if I hate kids, I hate people who are predatory toward kids even more. Just because I don't want to hear a child screaming at a restaurant, doesn't mean I'm fine with them being harmed by child predators!

Any interest in reviewing music suggestions from patrons? Interested to see how fan music taste overlaps with your own.

SwaggSwiggity

Do you know anything about Neil Breen or his movies? If Not, watch Fateful Findings….all I can truly say about that film is that it is……something

A Dose of Buckley

Like, for actual videos? Probably not if I'm being honest. People have suggested things to me before, and it's very difficult to get people to watch my videos about songs that are actually popular these days. Doing an Autopsy about something more obscure (which is what tends to be chosen) is almost guaranteed to get even fewer views than some of my recent videos. Maybe there'd be an avenue of doing something like a livestream on Discord (where it's pretty lawless) where people could recommend songs one by one and I listen to them and then give my initial thoughts or something, that'd just be something I have to set aside time for.

A Dose of Buckley

I feel like someone might have mentioned this guy before to me, seems like he might be a Tommy Wiseau type character... I'm really not interested in watching "so bad it's good" type movies for the most part, sometimes I'll be in the mood for it I guess but the thing is... I really like movies, and movies are long. I can listen to a song that sucks, that's 3 minutes out of my day, I can laugh about it, maybe turn it into content, whatever. An hour and a half or two hours of my life wasted watching a bad movie though? That feels like a chunk of my life gone that could have been spent doing something I actually enjoy, like watching a really good movie.

Greggleblom

How do you feel about the fan name "Buckley's Buckles"? I keep calling us that as a joke cause you said you hate fan names, but I genuinely like it now 😂

Madison

What are your thoughts on American politics? Usually presidential. I’m interested in how someone views our country from an outsider’s perspective. (You in Canada, me in USA.)

A Dose of Buckley

I've always felt that IF I had some sort of fandom name, it woulda been something like "The Addicts", or "Fiends of Buckley", or something drug related in keeping with the theme.

A Dose of Buckley

I've done quite a few videos on the subject (usually to a bunch of people getting angry), mostly I feel that American politics, especially now, have become very "team sports" oriented. I think the current President obviously is extremely "unpresidential", I don't think the President should be calling people "piggy" or, you know, saying any of the numerous things that Trump says on a seemingly weekly basis, I think the "grab him by the pussy" line would have disqualified anyone from being President about 20 years ago, but here we are now. I want politics to be professionals, to carry themselves in a certain way. I think some of that is seeping into Canada, and I really don't like it (not that our politicians have always been "professional", people can say whatever about Trudeau and his blackface as a 20-something, but when he got older and became Prime Minister he wasn't on social media every day calling people slurs).

Greggleblom

I could see Buckley Fiends working. Has a decent ring to it

Kvothe

Have you played Black myth: wukong? If so what are your thoughts on it?

A Dose of Buckley

No, my understanding is it's a soulslike? I don't enjoy games that are "difficult for the sake of being difficult", my patience for that type of game left me in my 20s. Nothing against the people who enjoy that type of challenge, but it's not for me.

KZorroFuego

A question of the unexpected. What are 3 examples of songs where - you generally don't like anything else the artist in question has done, but there is a lone exception in their discography that you actually like?

Brysoncore

what are you reading

Aaron Rainer

are you an Apple or Android user?

A Dose of Buckley

Tough question, I don't know if I have good answers for it... I've mentioned in the past I really enjoy the song "Power" by Kanye despite definitely hating him as a person and not really liking him as a musician anyway (I think his "genius" is a little overrated). I guess I did mention I liked "The Mom Song" by Kreayshawn, I thought it was funny. But I feel like this question might be looking to find songs by pop artists I've made fun of over the years where I like something of theirs, and I don't know if I have a third example of that. I typically don't go looking for music from musicians I know I don't like.

A Dose of Buckley

I've been really slacking on reading (I think I said this in the last Q&A too, and haven't done anything to rectify it). I read the occasional comic (the only current Marvel comic I'm following is Amazing Spider-Man, and I recently read the recent run of the British comic Battle Action, and a Garth Ennis take on Rogue Trooper called "Blighty Valley") , but I haven't read any novels lately.

Brysoncore

i just read DIE by Kieron Gillen as well as finally finishing all of Warren Ellis's Transmetropolitan which i really enjoyed

Arno Van den Eede

Do you see any difference in your Patreon preferences vs "the algorithm"? If so, how do you balance video topics?

A Dose of Buckley

Not really, in fact Patreon basically is a canary in the coalmine for my weekend videos, which is kinda interesting. If a video gets more views in early access than normal, it'll probably get more views when it goes live than normal. If it gets fewer? It's almost guaranteed to do poorly. My Billie vs Elon one for example, it had a much lower than average number of views for early access, and it was maybe one of my worst performing videos of the year. But the Charlie Kirk was MUCH higher than average in early access, and it did really well. This might seem like an unfair comparison (maybe the Charlie Kirk one was always going to do well). At this point, I honestly don't know what will be a hit anymore. I used to, I mean a Musical Autopsy was always an automatic hit, and now it's not. I made fun of some internet celebrities (like Jack Doherty) and that did really well, but then other videos where I've made fun of Internet celebrities didn't do well at all. At this point I've all but given up trying to predict, and I just choose whatever I think will be really funny and hope others agree, and if only my most die-hard of die-hard Patreon subscribers watch it? That's unfortunate but it's certainly their choice. If the question is "how do I choose which video is a Patreon video and which is a Weekend video", that just really basically comes down to "what do I think might have broader appeal?" OR, "what one can I talk about for 10 minutes vs 5-6 minutes?"

KZorroFuego

That's a good enough answer. And I mean hell, it can even extend to what you said in your recent autopsy of "Carnival" as in you think the beat is cool but the lyrics in the song are a hot steaming pile of BLORCH.

A Dose of Buckley

I don't know if it's "evolved" significantly, I think parents need to do a better job of teaching their kids and monitoring what they're doing online, but I think parents are getting somehow dumber and less tech savvy so that's a challenge. Like you look at people falling for AI, or even just Instagram scammers who are like "Hey it's me Juston Beeber send me $1000 in gift cards if you're my biggest fan" and they do! they're adults, and they can't tell what's real, how are they gonna educate their kids? But as always, I think it's mostly up to parents, and the government should only be concerned with child predators and actual criminals, and not whether or not a kid might hear a swear word or see a naked lady (again, that's up to parents to monitor and educate their kids).

Melvyn

Have you checked out Justin Bieber's two albums he put out this year? They're surprisingly good
