Never watched any of the super bowls. Only caught glimpses of the half time shows that were talked about, discussed, and deconstructed to death on youtube. Most football I ever watched was when it was in Forrest Gump.

The lip syncing for Kid Rock was the funniest part. They could have hid it better with camera angles and editing and they just didn't. Hung him out to dry nearly as badly as when SNL played Ashlee Simpson's vocal track for the wrong song.

Nicki might do it for free, but she doesn't have a single song they could have used. It would have had to be completely edited (lucky for them they could have done that, since it was entirely pre-recorded).

For some other type of show? Yeah they were likely the most talented musicians on that stage. For a Super Bowl halftime show meant to keep the hype and energy up between halves? It's a very strange choice. Also some people far more familiar with playing violin/cello mentioned that the visual was out of sync with their playing, so the production crew screwed them too. They clearly didn't have a staff who has produced a recorded concert before.

I saw kid rock at a final four concert here in my city to celebrate, we'll, fhe final four. It was awful. The band was live but it was so obvious he was lip syncing. Believe it or not he was billed as the headliner. I went mostly for the local bands. I was going to leave when Kid Rock came out but I couldn't help myself. It was like trying to drive past a car wreck and not look.
