Hey everyone, it's Early Access Day, and this weekend's video is sure to not hurt anyone's feelings, right?! Yeeeah... enjoy!

10 years ago, your ol' pal Buckley declared that Donald Trump as President would be "my comedy goldmine". 10 years have passed, and we've found out that comedy about Donald Trump leads to a lot of hurt feelings and not as many laughs as you'd think. WHY? Buckley looks at a little bit of the history of political comedy, and offers a hypothesis for why both his lovers and haters don't really want to hear comedy about Donnie. Plus of course: The whole "Jesus" picture thing.

The comedy writes itself on this one.

My god Buckley, you were on fire with the zingers and tone on this one. Great stuff. Cant believe Australia contributed someone to this BS in America.

The 'left' gets cancelled for 'laughing' at him (i.e. Jimmy Kimmel). Plus its Trump's hold he has on his cult members, I call it 'Right Selective Memory Syndrome'. All jokes aside I loved when SNL made fun of Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, Obama, Biden, and Trump, to me it was a joke. He acted like it was 'hurtful'. Bush I loved Dana Carvey's skit so much he asked him to do it at White House. Others came on the show and laughed.

Rofl, I love trump comedy, hell of a way to start a Saturday morning. Btw Buckley, if you need help with that "Aussie" accent let me know. Lol

That’s unfair. Saudi Arabia also told him to go to war with Iran.

It really is something they can't even say "I like Trump but not that one thing he did". So you got Hannity, a guy so Catholic he wanted to be a priest, renouncing Catholicism because he just can't admit Trump did something a little uncouth. You gonna slob the whole knob, not just the tip.

Faith in trump has really plummeted, you just won’t see it on Twitter, Trump was elected with one clear goal, to rid our country of illegals and he’s back pedaled and back pedaled, and ever since Charlie Kirk was assassinated many of us lost what little connection we have to the dying and increasing irrelevant Republican Party, who cower behind rules while democrats openly erase Republican representation and ensure a Republican is never elected in Virginia again, but then he’ll do something cool like kidnap a dictator and it’ll remind you that “eh could be worse”

I also started reading MAD at the age of 10. I quickly realized politicians were just the joke that we could all laugh at. I didn’t know virtually any of them at the time but apparently they were all idiots and drawn crudely. I miss when MAD was good… Tbf MAD stayed true with political comedy even when trump was initially running against Hilary, combining their logos to help spell “NEITHER”
