Hey everyone, happy Cinco De Mayo! it's Bonus Dose Day, and today's topic has been fairly big news for a little while, especially over the last weekend (social media has had some very strong opinions about this, after The Onion and Tim Heidecker released a video stating they finally got InfoWars shut down). So if you haven't been following it, here's your chance to get caught up, and if you have, here's your chance to laugh about it a little bit more. Enjoy!

The satirical news site The Onion has attempted to purchase the non-satirical-but-still-full-of-lies news site Infowars. Buckley takes a brief look at the history of this (which has been going on for 2 years now) and once again talks about the difficulties of satire in an era where everyone is more insane than ever. Plus: a visit from Alex himself?!

I just can’t respect Tim, most people know he had a hand in getting MDE off adult swim because of his political beliefs. Honestly all the MDE sketch’s are funnier than anything Tim and Eric ever did IMO. And this whole idea is stupid, you’ll never be funnier than Alex jones already is.

A Dose of Buckley

I had to look that up, I wasn't aware Sam Hyde was actually on TV, thought he was only an Internet character. I will say I do enjoy the absurdist humor of a lot of Tim & Eric stuff (Steve Brule, "Nude Tayne", etc.) but I can also understand why he's fairly polarizing (he is quite left leaning, although it's funny because I watched a clip from his podcast where someone gets kinda mad at him for saying that Hasan Piker was a good person, the person was even MORE leftist and was lecturing him, so... there's an inherent issue of course with going down that route too).

I’ll have to look for that clip, watching people argue about Hasan is always entertaining. But the problem with all of this modern “Parody comedy” is exactly what you brought up in a previous video, how can you possibly Parody Modern society? We are living in Idiocracy and about a half dozen other dystopian movies and books. Trump is so over the top Retarded it’s just not even possible to make fun of it.

Imma be honest, I have never heard of MDE or Sam Hyde. I think most folk would just be like "the Onion bought InfoWars Ha!". I Don't think their choice of host will make much of a difference if he's funny to most folk. Like I also don't see the appeal of Adam Sandler's schlock but clearly someone likes it. Agree though that I really don't know how you parody Alex. He is a self parody. No matter how ridiculous you portray him, *he will one up you*.
