Self-Fulfilling Prophecy (Patreon)

In the depths of the earth, the people of the Subterranean kingdom had forged a unique identity in the darkness. They had also developed a rich culture, preserving the fabric of their social structure despite the challenges of living in the dark.

Their king was born underground. Already blind at birth, he never saw the sun or the stars yet had recurrent dreams of bringing light to his people and swore he would illuminate their world and bring them out of the shadows.

Not everyone, however, wished for his dreams to become prophetic. Some had already developed a strong sense of cooperation and interdependence, building a new community, based on resilience and ingenuity.

It was at this point that a certain prophecy began to circulate among the people of the subterranean world. It spoke of a king whose desire to bring light to his people would ultimately lead to their downfall. The prophecy warned that the king's quest for illumination would unleash a great evil that would consume the kingdom.

Was it meant to be? Or were the people of the underground too scared to appear in the light of the day once again? The ominous prophecy left the people of the Subterranean kingdom in fear and uncertainty, wondering if their blind king was truly a hero or a harbinger of doom.
