Chained Faith (Patreon)

Aveline was once a revered cleric, a beacon of hope for her people. Her faith in the divine had been unshakable, and her devotion to her deity had been unwavering. She believed that the gods would always protect her.

But as she grew older, Aveline began to see the darker side of the world. She saw the suffering and cruelty that people inflicted on each other, and she began to question whether the gods truly cared about their followers.

As her doubts grew, Aveline became more and more disillusioned with her faith. She renounced it and publicly denounced the divine.

The deities were swift in their judgement. They stripped Aveline of her wings, burnt and broken them, and chained her to the ground. They then banished her to the Blazing Realm, a place of eternal torment and suffering.

Aveline was left to wander the lands of the Blazing Realm, her body wracked with pain and her soul consumed by guilt. The heat was unbearable, and the flames licked at her skin, leaving her with burns that never healed. The screams of the damned echoed in her ears, a constant reminder of her own sins.

Aveline lost track of time, lost track of herself. She had no purpose, no hope, no redemption. She was a fallen cleric, banished to the Blazing Realm as a punishment for her disbelief.
